The simple task of regulating breathing can have a tremendous impact on mental health. Stress, anxiety, and their consequent health issues are such a big issue in our society, and taking this small step can make a difference. As a medical school student, I experience high levels of stress on a near constant basis. The simple act of taking five minutes to stop and focus on my breathing, or just going outside and getting some fresh air, makes a world of difference. There are numerous studies on the benefits of breathing exercises for a wide range of pathological conditions. As a future osteopathic physician, I’ll encourage my patients to avail themselves of meditative breathing exercises, for their physiological, emotional, and spiritual benefit. The principle of beneficence dictates that I do the best I can for all of my patients, part of which entails treating the whole person with any and all beneficial modes of treatment.

Thank you for this video. I already do a focusing on the breath exercise every morning, but in a much simpler and shorter way. I use to ground and take four deep breathes. Four, because it is the number of nature. Takin in new power with the inhale, and pushing out all anxiety, fear and weakness out with the exhale. Well, after this video I am thinking about to improve that exercise. Thank you for the guidence.

Learn the middle pillar and Qabalistic cross exercises. Inhale four, hold 4, exhale 4, and hold 4. Repeat.
This will change your life!

Namaste 😂 you all realise that this just means ‘alright mate’ or ‘hi’ it’s a casual greeting hilarious but a fitting way to end the BS. This TED talk she has just lifted from a headspace app or something similar mindfulness £10 a month subscription job. I meditate and I’m not dismissing it but this is just awful.

With all due respects, this is the same as the Pranayamam, a part of SandhyaVandanam which is to be performed 3 times a day, by every indian who follows the traditional way of life. In each sitting, 16 Pranayamams are mandated, and one more Pranayamam during another short ritual called the Brahmayagnyam. Altogether 49 Pranayamams are mandated every day. Instead of counting, one has to mentally chant the longer form of Gayatri Mantra. For concentration, one focuses on the image of Gayatri Devi. If done properly, the rejuvenation one feels is experiencial. It cannot be described in words. Since the stomach muscles are fully compressed and expanded, the action pumps the lymphatic fluid very well. The lymphatic system is a part of the immune system, which protects us from diseases. It has no pump like the heart, only our abdominal muscles force the circulation. I could give close care to my Covid afflicted, 90 year old mother, without getting affected by Covid myself. I didn't even feel tired. This is to share experiences, and bring out the wisdom in our heritage practices. I believe the West renames our practices, and sells the knowledge back to us. It is better to do our own research, and rediscover ourselves.

We cant compromise with all sorts of coping mechanisms like this forever. Something has to give, either humanity itself or in worst case most of the life on this planet. Its time to realize how capitalism is the main stressor here, and start to think about something new and better that can replace it
