So I guess the lesson about bolts is to use Grade 8 bolts. Generally you don't want to trust the mounting hardware to hold up, because we know where most of it comes from - China. The Jeep Jamboree mandates that Grade 6 to 8 bolts are used for such reasons.

hey guys great vid! i saw the winch mount failure and it came to mind - the mistake there was likely welding the bolts on in the first place. welding is obviously a lot of heat which would changed the metallurgy of the bolts... it almost sounds like you ended up hardening the bolts (and not the nuts), and the diff between "mild" and "hardened" metal just caused the nuts to strip out under force, vs flexing together like they were probably intended. would also makes sense why they all failed at the same time. anyways - great to see you all work together and get through it all in a good mood! just getting into ORV & great to have some inspiration

Human made forest fires can be very harmful as can those started by lightning strikes. Fire in the forests is a good thing and stopping forest fires causes more issues down the road. Since underbrush doesn't burn, it builds up and can make subsequent fires worse. Many plant species need the fires to survive and thrive. The forests recover rather quickly as well. You can see that in the Smokies

While watching this, look for cell towers, forest service roads, logging sites etc…. Anywhere they take machines us mechanics end up going. My point isn’t to boast, it just gives several examples of what we do for jobs here in our once wonderful state. It’s still roughly beautiful, it’s just politically corrupt. I’m glad you guys can still drive out there, our corrupt politicians have been trying to shut it all down.

This route is in my backyard. Done it before it was a BCDR route. I'd recommend not going when there's snow. You will get stuck and get frustrated.

Iv watched a lot of overlanding/off-roading type stuff but this video has to be at the top 3 of my favorites. Great narration, great video quality, and a great place to off-road. I’m in Lebanon Oregon and was actually out in the desert around hart mountain when you filmed this in may. Surprised we didn’t cross paths. From one off-roader to another, thank you for sharing and keep on keeping on.
