I live in Gettysburg, PA (which I see you stopped in!) so I am very close to Lancaster. There are some really great places to visit and enjoy. I guess we are attracted because it’s a very different “way” of life. I have to say I generally think “quality” when I think of Amish made goods/products/services. We also have a pretty large Mennonite community too!

I love these people. Can you imagine convincing a group of people to ride horse and buggy for eternity? If I could hire that guy as a salesperson I could be the richest man on earth. They should do Ted Talks on sales training. They just sold some goats for me. Can you sell a goat? They sold 15 nigerian dward goats in a day. They are the greatest salespeople on the face of the earth. I seriously love these people. You know in order to spread communism they would have to convince the amish of it. You ain't ever going to out sell them on that or anything else. There is no way that you can outsell the Amish buggy salesman. That is the greatest capitalist who as walked the face of the earth. They're fairy godmother don't play no games. She said midnight and she meant it.

I have experience the Amish people my self in the State of Delaware,... I actually,. Live on their land ,. They make their own butter and Etc... It was me and my children and husband at the time,... No longer stay there in Delaware,.. very long,... Moved back in Louisiana,.. But here in Louisiana there are a lot of Mennonite,. They branch off from the Amish... I love the Amish folks,.. They sure can cook and bakes goods,. And sew and make things... 😁💜😊❤️👍🙂☺️♥️😁😁

i visited the Amish area a few years back. while the name "Bird in hand" sounds cute, another village is shockingly interesting - the name is "Intercourse" which is a large tourist destination and has lots of shops.

I grew up in Ephrata and the families that own Green Dragon. Lots of Fridays there back in later 80’s at Clara’s diner restaurant. Lancaster county is a great area to live

I visited an Amish school once. They don't believe in individuality. The artwork for a fall tree with colored leaves hanging on the wall was all the same. The teacher must have said paste the yellow leaf here and the read leaf there. My 4th graders would have had their own designs and made much more interesting pictures.
