You know, I think the reason why Tool is so darn great is somewhat similar to why Queen was such a beast: there are four people of immense talent, each of whom is perfectly capable of superb careers on their own .But when together, are capable of absolute cooperation. They are able to put their technical and creative capabilities into perfect balance. Most of the time the level of talent these guys have can not stand being equalized, no matter the effort. Only select few can. And if you take one of them out - you loose the band. Adam's guitar turns my spine into butter.

How the hell am just now hearing this for the first time!??? This is absolutely mind blowing and just shows how truly genius Adam is.

Maynard mainly gets the credit and recognition of the bands he’s in, and much deserved absolutely, but the truly special sound and overall feel and tone I get from Tool all comes from Adam and this sound right here.
