ОтветитьYawn...who cares, it's a fictional castle for crying out loud!😋
ОтветитьI loveeee listening to people talk about something they are SO interested + knowledgeable about.
Ответитьit's "gloster" and "annick" for gloucester and alnwick
ОтветитьAm I the only one who got the Fantastic beasts reference, lmao
Ответитьooh learned a few things about tapestries. thankyou
and coats of arms in the structure is kinda chic, instead of seeing full names in some schools
we need to know about the other houses's greatrooms please
I have to agree with the likes to view ratio
Quite boring
Please continue this series. It's brillant.
ОтветитьI wish they featured the back courtyard that was so prominent in Prisoner of Azkaban. It was such a dreamy, witchy, whimsical place that looked like the indoor elements (arches, columns, etc.) were left outside with the plants 😍
ОтветитьWhat an amazing video!
ОтветитьHawgwahhrts
ОтветитьThe Large Tower is where the Staff and Students Lived what is why it has so many windows and windows on the roof
ОтветитьShe's a bit ignorant in being an un-empathetic American of the nuance use the British imagination. It's all plausible. Does she understand HP is set in the 1990s and Hogwarts is 1000yrs old?
Her knowledge is large, her yet this video is not fun. It's presented in a too "matter of fact" tone.
I find it funny that you talk about all these popular mid evil English architectural features but to be historically accurate to the area Hogwarts should have been made to look more like something built in mid evil Scotland cause that’s where the castle is
ОтветитьHogwaaarts
ОтветитьI can tell she doesn't know what she's talking about by the way she pronounced Hogwarts, "hahg-warrts".
ОтветитьAmazing video ❤
ОтветитьFinally a walkthrough of Hagwaerts architecture!
ОтветитьI hope Ted Mosby is nerding out right now.
ОтветитьPOV:u live 5 mins away from the castle at the end
ОтветитьI think wizards are so ahead of muggles that it just makes sense that their architecture would be from different eras. Also, Hogwarts has to be defensive against attacks but wizards also fight differently than muggles thus the windows. Instead of shooting bows and arrows they might fly out the window on their broom :)
ОтветитьHagwats ?
ОтветитьTapestries, beautiful, practical and * expensive *. Henry VIII's gift of tapestry to his second wife cost the same as building a battleship of his era (the tapestry in the dining room he and she used at that time).
Ответитьits friggin hOgwarts not hAgwarts you cavetroll
Ответитьthat was a fantastic watch!
ОтветитьNo mention that the exterior of Hogwarts is all Scots Baronial in style! Alnwick is pronounced like "Anick" btw :)
ОтветитьThe "very tall keep" is literally just a tower, not a keep or donjon.
ОтветитьThey didn't put holes in the tapestry to hang the paintings. They are hung from chains which are anchored above the tapestry. Look closer. This is how paintings are hung in British palaces too.
ОтветитьHog-war-ts NOT Harg-waarts
ОтветитьHawgwarts
ОтветитьYour section on the great hall is inaccurate. Take a look at the 4 Inns of court for the school of law. The great hall is largely reminiscent of Middle Temple and Lincolns Inn specifically. Down to the window, raised professorial platform, throne, coloring, double barrel ceiling. Middle Temple , Lincolns Inn Blue, Gray's Inn, and Inner Temple.
ОтветитьWould love to see an opinion of the castle based on the Legacy game. The dungeons and towers being much more accessible.
Ответитьgreat video! would love to see an in-depth update now that the game hogwarts legacy is out and gives total access to explore the castle grounds and interiors.
ОтветитьHowgvarts
ОтветитьThe pronunciation of Alnwick killed me (it's Annick)
ОтветитьAmazing! I wonder what her take on the castle iteration of Hogwarts Legacy would be. It’s a whole motley of different styles.
ОтветитьHargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....Hargwarts....
ОтветитьI have to say it cause it bothers me so much: "Hogworts", not "Hogwharts".
Ответитьahah she says Hahgwahrts
ОтветитьApparently when they shot the second film in Gloucester cathedral, they didn't tell anyone they were going to flood the corridor, and the water ended up removing the patina of 700 years of continuous occupation. (The cathedral is nearly 1000 years old but that part is C14th
ОтветитьStill waiting for my letter.
ОтветитьHaving her back and doing the Hogwarts castle from Hogwarts Legacy would be cool. There are many more details and features to explore the grounds and the interior of the castle.
ОтветитьOf course, trolls, ghosts and dragons are all real, but the buildings are not. 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьDear Madame can you do an analysis of Hogwarts Legacy ?
ОтветитьThis is super super interesting but the wizarding world is a different wold so while they may have aspects of architecture that is inspired by the Muggle world, the styles would be different!
ОтветитьHOW DO YOU KNOW ALL THIS ARCHITECTURE STUFF BUT NOT KNOW WHAT A 'WART' IS
HOGWARTS! SWINEDIMPLES! YOU GET IT NOW OK OK TY FOR READING THE COMMENTS GL TO YOU
I don't know if it's possible or not, but I wonder if it'd be interesting to see the lady explaining her perspective while she's also playing Hogwarts Legacy. Like the deconstruction of the famous British magical school castle, maybe.
ОтветитьTake a shot every time she says Oxford and Cambridge
