ОтветитьUn capolavoro assoluto!
ОтветитьRemember the original release as a 22 year old. Now at 62, it still moves me..timeless, like I wish I was. 40 years. Breaks my heart. ❤
ОтветитьBelissima canção não canso de ouvir, ouvindo em 2023
ОтветитьCulture club is like our version of the Rock Eisteddfods we had years ago. Boy George would of loved it.
ОтветитьThe second of two appearances of Culture Club on the very first NOW That's What I Call Music compilation from Virgin & EMI, released in the UK on 28th November 1983. "Karma Chameleon" opened Record/Tape 1 Side 2, while "Victims" closed Record/Tape 2 Side 2 and the entire album.
The liner notes for "Victims" predicted it to be an "Almost certain No. 1 by the time you have this LP." "Victims" was released a week after the compilation entered all good record shops, and entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 11, peaking at No. 3 over Christmas, held off by Slade at No. 2 (with "My Oh My") and the Flying Pickets at No. 1 (with their acapella cover of Yazoo's "Only You").
Fairplay this is magic, best song from Culture Club. For a small country it makes you wonder how Britain has produced over the decades so many big name bands with so much variety in music and fashion, class
ОтветитьLove many of their songs but this is beautiful play it a lot in winter especially christmas as it was a hit at that time of year i still have the poster in the vinyl george is wearing the same outfit as the video fantastic photography.

ОтветитьLyrics:
The victims we know so well
They shine in your eyes
When they kiss and tell
Strange places we never see
But you're always there
Like a ghost in my dream
And I keep on telling you
Please don't do the things you do
When you do those things
Pull my puppet strings
I have the strangest void for you
We love and we never tell
What places our hearts in the wishing well
Love leads us into the stream
And it's sink or swim
Like it's always been
And I keep on loving you
It's the only thing to do
When the angel sings
There are greater things
Can I give them all to you
Pull the strings of emotion
Take a ride into unknown pleasure
Feel like a child
On a dark night
Wishing there was some kind of heaven
Oh I could be warm with you smiling
Hold out your hand for a while
The victims we know them so well
So well
The victims we know so well
They shine in your eyes
When they kiss and tell
Strange places we never see
But you're always there
Like a ghost in my dream
And I keep on telling you
Please don't do the things you do
When you do those things
Pull my puppet strings
I have the strangest void for you
Show my heart some devotion
Push aside those that whisper never
Fell like a child on a dark night
Wishing we could spend it together
Oh I could be warm with you smiling
Hold out your hand for a while
The victims
We know them so well
So well
