Can I play pubg with this i Mac?
ОтветитьThey're super cheap for a reason
ОтветитьOne year later second-hand prices for M1 iMacs haven't dropped any further. I bought at the right time!
Ответить"Cheap and fast", minimum £1000... oof.
Ответитьhes saying 1000 bucks like its nothing
ОтветитьI prefer the Mac Mini. You can keep your monitor and get the one you want and change the computer when needed + possibility to add a hub to upgrade the storage.
ОтветитьHow about the Big Mac?
Ответитьwhat year IS THE M2 IMAC LUKE!!!! please i gotta know
ОтветитьSo you're telling me the base iMac sells for the same price as a MacBook Air, and the only difference is a bigger screen and being attached to a wall...? No, I would certainly not buy that over a MacBook.
ОтветитьI’d love to see how you upgraded to the i9 in that iMac and what other hardware you changed out and what tools you used.
ОтветитьI just bought the base m1 for $600 never used form my buddy. Good deal or na?
ОтветитьHis reaction to Amazon price feels so forced 😂
ОтветитьNew IMac design is childish. That toy feel prevent me from buying it
ОтветитьAffordable💀
ОтветитьFunny how you think anything apple is "affordable" or a "good deal".
ОтветитьRather get the Mac Mini M2 with a great monitor.-)
ОтветитьI use a late 2006 17in imac with core 2 duo cpu 64 bit with Linux i will never buy a mac i like computers like my dell or hp systems but i found it for cheeo at a thrift store and decided ehh why not lol
ОтветитьI bought one secondhand for $500
ОтветитьFor $700 I can get an AMD Ryzen 9 7940hs mini-pc with over twice the processor power, four times the storage and memory. I can spend $200 to $250 on a nice monitor and still be ahead. (Actually I am planning to use my late 2009 27” iMac as a monitor if I can make that work.)
ОтветитьChin looks horrible without the iconic logo on the front
ОтветитьI love the design of the iMac! Especially the green and blue one
ОтветитьAm leaning towards the Intel i9
ОтветитьThe m1 I mac looks like a hp Windows machine. No apple logo throws it off
ОтветитьThe biggest problems with iMacs are that you cant upgrade them. 5 years down the line the performance starts to suffer and you want to look at another machine but the 5k display will still be an excellent display. But because of the performance its it’s resale value will also go to the dogs.
ОтветитьJust picked up one for 550.00
8core cpu 8 core gpu
1tb ssd 16gb ram.
Touch ID keyboard, mouse and trackpad.
I'd take the i9 model, just for the repair/upgrade and thanks to Opencore you'll have mac OS support right up until the last intel mac to be supported. Not to mention you've got the avenue still open for Windows/Linux too.
Ответитьdidn't they make that silver one in the 27 inch as well?
ОтветитьYeah, my 2013 27" is still shredding. Boots from a 2T SSD. Plenty fast. Renders 3D images quickly.
ОтветитьHi Luke- I know this video is a year old and my response to it is a bit late, but I hope you will read my comment anyway. I am slightly in disagreement about the new M1 iMac, the reason why I did not buy this was due to several reasons, firstly, screen size, I would have gone from 27 inches to 24, then I would be be backtracking from 5K to 4.5K, then there is loss of connectivity ports in the back. The M1 iMac was a downgrade - if Apple had released it as 6K display and a 32 inch display, that would justify shelling out 1800 quid for it, but to have pay more for less, just made no sense to buy it. The only improvement is the Apple Silicon M1 chip. As for the Intel iMac, I am not skilled enough to attempt to open my iMac desktop and dismantle it to put in a new SSD and an i9 processor, I wish I could. The M1 iMac would suit someone moving over from Microsoft or returning to Apple, and the other option to instal you own upgrades are for those who know what they are doing- I do not. I wanted to remove the fusion drive out of my iMac - the i5 processor in it was more than what I needed it for at the time. What I really wish Apple would have done is brought back TDM for iMacs after 2014 so I could hook my Mac Mini M2 Pro to it.
ОтветитьI would love an imac. It's just out of my price range right now. My buddy might be able to hook me up with one, but it'll be silver (blah!).
Ответить1000 dollars would get you a much better performing pc. So saying its an insanely good deal is skinda strectching it.
Ответитьi won't my fucking box!
ОтветитьI have the old intel imac… 2015, it’s on its knees. I bought it for photos but now I edit movies, host live meetings etc. is the other worth investing in? Or do I need to payout a little more?
ОтветитьWhen the M1 iMac first came out I was pretty meh about the next gen. Why on earth would I step down from a 27 inch 5k display to a 24 and have fewer IO ports? (And pay a bunch of money to basically downgrade to a lesser system.) Nope I went the other way. I went out and bought a faster CPU, more ram and trashed the Fusion Drive for a sexy new NVME SSD. It was so gratifying when you posted the Cinebench results comparing the i9 with the base M1 processor. In your words, "It slaps."
ОтветитьWho gets this excited for a low-feature refurbished imac 24 that’s still over $1k?
ОтветитьFor Me a M1
ОтветитьPlease stop calling $1000 affordable lol
ОтветитьYou forgot the most important thing you're missing on the base models. A second flash chip. Base mdoels only have 1 256 chip instead of two 128 or two 256 on the 512 model. That results in much lower access speeds
ОтветитьI got an iMac 2017 on Mojave and a MacBook Air M2 on Ventura, any idea how I can use my iMac as a display for my M2? I found plethora of info but not for these 2 specific ones, any idea?
ОтветитьI bought a secondhand imac 27 with i5 3.2 processor and 16gb ram and am extremely happy at £360. Even the standard 1Tb hard drive is fast enough for my needs.
ОтветитьI use a 21.5" iMac from 2012, and I paid $75 for it. Love it, and I have done quite a few upgrades to it. My favourite computer ever.
ОтветитьAnd the small storage isn't a problem because everyone has USB C(???) external drives???
ОтветитьDumb question. So ram amount is not as critical in theM1 as Intel machines?????
ОтветитьI think the best deal is really a refurb 202 27 iMac. You can get the for good deals and can upgrade the ram to 128gb whenever you want. There are more ports, the screen is bigger and higher resolution, and performance is basically the same as the M1 chips. The newer M2 chips beat it, but those computers all cost a lot more once you add getting a bigger display etc
ОтветитьThe m1 iMac specs is so bad
ОтветитьI own a new iMac - in Red! You’re right Luke, it’s an absolutely sick machine!!!
I LOVE IT 😮
Lol you better check the ssd life that's left on those referb imacs
ОтветитьFuck it, as I have to anyhow open up my iMac 2011, I can get every component out and eloxate the aluminium case into anywhich color I like.
ОтветитьI love my M1 iMac too. Was tempted to by the Studio Display and Mac Mini, but the iMac is just so beautiful and compact. Just wish there was a bigger size.
Ответить
