I Tried Arknights for 2 Months | Is it F2P Friendly?

low sanity to spend and trial tickets are not unlimited ^^ that the only few things i dont like

There are a few problems with it like first you can’t just quickly restart a mission (idk if you can haven’t seen any option to quick restart) so if you lose and know what you did wrong you have to quit then manually go back in which can be so annoying and you can’t go from squad straight to character to level them up and such (again idk if you can haven’t found anything which allowed that) plus 6000 for a 10 pull feel impossible to get, plus the menu can be hard to navigate, it all the same colours with tiny symbols and such, it cool and sleek but bit overwhelming on finding anything (unless you’ve play for over 2 months I’ve only played for a few weeks now) tho I feel the biggest problem is just how sheer overwhelming it is and that can turn some people away (like me almost) with who to level and who to upgrade and how much there is to upgrade and the fear of upgrading just to have someone who not that good or your play style, then enemies with all the wacky thing they do, I do wish there was like a testing dojo where you can customise you own game to test out characters with each other so you can get hands on with the new crew you got coz if you wanna test a new character or team you have to play a mission

Man, I really like this game now. Arknights is such a breath of fresh air, where nearly every other Gacha feels like you can't proceed without spending at least some cash, hell. Even with one of my favorite games, FGO still making me feel tempted to just spend some money. Arknights is a game where I can truly have fun, and not worrying about feeling that I am worthless, I can literally clear the stages without using the rarer operators. I honestly wish the best for Arknights, and hope that it becomes even more successful, and that other games should at least take some notes on how to make a fun game

I have played Arknights for two weeks currently. I am a free to play player. I chose to spend my Originium on Headhunting, particularly to acquire the guaranteed 5 ⭐ or 6 ⭐ after 10 pulls during an event. I also spent Originium on the pack which is unlocked every 10 levels in the Store. I am currently using 3 ⭐ to 5 ⭐ operators trying to develop my play style. I am using Deployment Points as a baseline for which Operators are ideal for each level. Then looking for an Operator who has at or as close to that Deployment Cost as I currently have. In one case I should deploy three Melee Operator who had 13, 10, any cost Deployment Points in that order for my first three units. The third Operator could have literally any Deployment Cost so I chose an Operator who had as high Deployment Cost as I could find yet also was still a Melee Operator.

Reason why I quit:
I can't bring Yato with me without handicapping myself.
I swapped to FGO since I heard about how you can make 1 star's into 5 stars just by using story items called 'Holy Grails'.
If they ever implement a system where low rarity operators can be buffed to at least be viable, I'd happily rejoin.

I don't play waifu games for the same reasons most do. I play waifu games for the waifu's. If I wanted hardcore tacical Tower Defense, I wouldn't play a gacha game where the best 'towers' are locked behind a paywall for it.

nope originium is very easy to farm, but rock the damn ROOOOOOOOOCKS you need it soooo much.

When I played arknights when it came out like when I was 12-13 I wasn’t good at it so I quit then since I came back with a new account in global Jesus man I missed out a lot past events etc so I just wanna stay in the game long enough to upgrade all my characters to use them in the future

it's really hard to get 6 stars from banners, it needs alot of those red thingies.... (I'm sorry idk how to call it)

I am someone who has played since day 1(global) and a bit in the cn server, you are right to say u need brain to do some maps and as someone who has whaled and have every character, even with a full team of 6*, you will not clear some maps, BRAIN > powerthrough them with 6* characters

Arknights is most generous game i ever played so far....
Guaranted high rarity character in first 10 pulls gacha is a life saver for F2P....
Also gacha resources is very easy to obtain (1800 orunds from weekly annihilation + 100 orunds from daily + 500 weekly + 600 orunds and 4 tickets from monthly shop = (1800 x 4) + (100 x 30) + (500 x 4) + 600 + 4 tickets = 7200+3000+2000+600+(4) = 12800 orunds + 4 tickets = around 20 pulls per month).....
The only downside is mats are quite hard to farm especially with energy system that limit activity in the game.....
I would say arknights is farming hell.....

I regret not picking up Arknights the day it released. I remember several friends dissuading me from it when I asked for more info about the game they were talking about... I hadn't played any gacha games at the time and they didn't think I'd be into them. As it turns out, even though I couldn't care less for waifus, I also love strategy games and games with tons of collectible characters with unique kits. Haven't missed a single login in my 11 months now.

one of the biggest factors people quit arknights was because of a man named tectone who was bullied by the community a year or 2 ago and started a long hatred for arknights using his influence to make players stop playing the game and give it bad reviews

Well I quitted the game about half a year after it launch globally. Well everything was excellent, but I got no luck on Nian Banner, so a rage quit was... inevitable for me. Plus, the main story was kinda weak back then, and I can't stand the oversaturating " Characters' Profiles" that is still getting more and more common these days. Feels like a very lazy writing method IMO.

I think i'll playing arknights just for 7 days to testing lore and gameplay... and when i just done with m3-ing silverash, i realize it has been 3 month since i play 😅😅 im addicted till now

Ive sunk a few too many hours. One of Arknights' biggest assets is that once you got autos set, you can quite literally have the game play itself for you, allowing you to do other things.

I think Arknights is a very friendly F2P game for the only reason that low star units cost way less (sometimes half) the ammount to upgrade or deploy in a battle compared to a 6 stars, even though I have a bunch of 6 stars (even though I never put a dime in the game) it's a better strategy to start with low stars operators

also the BEST part about this game is the story, the gameplay is very fun and require to use your head, but chapters 0 to 8 is the best story I've ever seen in a mobile game ever, more than just evil guys and good guys, with all parties doing shady stuff and antagonist you really empathize with

I already quit long time ago because of my device back then. Is it still worth it to return? because I'm being hesitant after missing tons of banners

pretty shallow review, seems no one told you to farm only event stages for materials and or use 1-9 or optimize the base for output, or that you probably shouldnt pull on the standard banners... theres also a massive ammount ot free OP.

as most other long time players the bottleneck is materials, but not a must have, its more of a "nice to have"

In terms of F2P it's worth mentioning this app provides decent amount of Prime currency for free. You get it from the Story, from Events and occasionally after a maintenance. Story wise - current Global count is: 9 chapters. That's a lot of Prime (you get 2 per map from Normal and Challenge mode) considering skins range from 15 to 18 Prime (L2D skins that are yet to be implemented in Global will cost 21 Prime per pop, IIRC). I play this other app from Yostar, it's called Revived Witch, guess how much Premium/skin currency you get there without spending hard cash... yup, you guessed it - zero! Not a single fucking crystal. So yeah, AK has a shit-ton of Operators/Skins but at least you can go online, search the database, decide which skins are an absolute must for your account, save up (don't ever spend Prime on Sanity no matter how tempted you may be, BTW) and wait for them to pop up in the store.

Second F2P friendly detail I'd point out is the fact that begginer pool banner is reroll friendly. Not many Ops' there so, with a bit of luck you get the job done in a jiffy. I'm mentioning this cus' you'll find SilverAsh in that pool. He's been broken AF when the game premiered, and he's just as broken 2,5yrs later. Amazing unit for early, mid and late game. You wanna' give AK a go - do yourself a favor and reroll for him. He'll make your Events, like, 80% easier once you Elite his ass and M3 his skill.

6 stars in AK is just there to make things easier, but it's not like you cannot clear things with the cast of 3 to 4 stars if you get the strat right.

I love arknights but the crazy amount of time needed to auto farm is painful. It's basically mandatory to play on an emulator. There's some changes coming to global in a few months that will help with the grind, but idk how much better it will be.

Good review. AK is very generous with its events and orundum to pull so i found it very comfy to play F2P. All the content can be clear with lower rarity units and the game has a 'support' system where you can add a 13th operator in your squad from a friend. So if you find a stage that is giving you problem you can borrow a powerful unity you dont have to help you clear.

I started playing this game about a year ago. Didn't get into it at first because the starting info felt overwhelming, I ended up getting hooked after trying to grind The Eunectes (Great chief) event that was ending soon after I saw how much good stuff was in the event store. IMHO This game is more f2p friendly or at least more pull friendly than other gachas I've played (Genshin, Fire emblem Heroes).
Also for anyone worried about it taking up time, there is an auto-deploy system. You can use it to farm stages you've already beaten, while working on something else, it's very convenient.

Admittedly I'm not f2p anymore. I'm probably a Dolphin tbh. I've been happy while playing this game so I honestly don't mind spending money on it or working a few extra hours at work to buy stuff in it.

The only thing that is stressful in arknights is the Contingency Contract

As someone who's been playing for a bit over 6 months, to me, this quickly became the most F2P-friendly gacha I've ever played. Granted it might be because I got very lucky and have around a decade of experience with other gachas.
But in around this period of time and by using the mountains of external fan-made resource management sites and sheets. I already have most of the games top-tier characters, all with masteries and excess money to spend and keep following the most recent banners.

I play Arknights when it comes in EN in the first time until now and yes, it's really friendly to F2P player. Arknights communities are really friendly and helpfull. They will help you to give advice when you need help about stages that you can't clear. Beside that thing, I play Alchemy Stars. That game is really friendly to the player and gives 100 free gachas in the 1st Anniversary.

Its never meant for f2p to use as summoning currency because its 33-34 op for a multi
F2p should focus op on the skins/the level up packs and you get a plethora of op from events since each events basically gurantees 10+ op given if you never cleared it

For my experience playing arknights for 1 year. The wise strategy to gacha/summon operator is summon when a new limited operator release. Because,you can save your orundum first and then you can spend all of your orundum in limited banner.If your lucky enough,you can get limited operator+all of *6 common operator though.BTW, if i remember i have 35-ish *6 operator,which i have most of limited operator(except dusk and ash).

Been playing playing for 2 years, its very D2P friendly and the rates and pity are good for a gatcha. Glad to see more Doktahs playing it!

Arknights to me is the best Gacha Game on the market due to the challenge being more based around strategy and not as much around how OP the units are. My only gripe with the game is the crazy amount of stamina cost when farming for resources and a serious lack of stamina refreshes. Other than that, I've really enjoyed my time. The maps are really fun and challenging and you feel accomplished if you're able to figure them out yourself without any help.

I agree that it is F2P friendly but accounts can be so different. Your 2-month acc has 9 6* ops +2 potentials, while mine 1,5-month acc has only 4 and I am out of orundum. Still happy to have them and enjoy the game.

If you were to have made this video maybe a month later, Arknight's is adding a new side-game called Integrated Strategy, a rogue-like that's sanity free and could be played repetitively, essentially making the game more of a main game than just a side game.
