I just finished Medik8 6 crystal retinal. No effects on my 44 year-acne prone skin. I have experienced flaking,
though. It's crazy expensive and you have to use quite a lot of it to cover your face well. I won't be buying it again.

I always take time at night especially to take my make up of at night ...even if I've had a few drinks ...clean your skin and drink plenty of filtered water. .I'm 60 now and been told I look ten years younger...I don't necessarily eat that healthy all the time but home cooked food is better ...and Elizabeth grant products are fab

There are other alternative now too Medik 8 retinal. Both Geek and Gorgeous and Peach and Lily use a retinal too.

Can I put retinal on a damp face? I put my moisturizer on damp skin

For those looking for an affordable starting gentle retinal to start with I like a Beauty of Joseon - Revive eye serum : Ginseng + Retinal.

It’s an eye cream that can be used all over and it’s roughly a third of the cost of medik8, which I think is too pricey.

I’d say it’s comparable to medik8 that’s between strengths 1 and 3.

Beauty of Joseon was the very first retinol anything that I had tried. Only the first few times my skin was a bit hot red right after application. Then calmed down in a few minutes with moisturizer on top and a bit under. After using it about 5 times within the first 12 days my skin was already used to it.

Info: Beauty of Joseon: 2% (active ingredient 0.02%) liposome-stabilized retinal formula

I would like to find other strengths but this is a good starter and I might just keep using it for eyes only later on.

I think the A-game 10 has the same effect and is way cheaper and fragrance free.(but I am not sensitive to fragrances, just fyi)
The DHC cleansing oil gives me acne every time before while I had oily skin.
But! I ordered it to try it out to see if it’s better than Geek and Gorgeous.
Might take me 2 months to observe.

I looked at this but im actually using Dr. V serum from the UK. Hers has retinol, retinaldihyde(0.1%) and retinol palmitate(0.2%) (im butchering these spellings lol) along with vit. C! I haven't experienced any irritation. And its cheaper than this one! She doesn't have any eye retinal though so maybe i can look.ay medik for that. Tfs!

Don’t know what in a lot of those items but I do know that Cerav has a far number of chemicals in it... not a good thing for skin or anything else. The first thing I do with all products..including doctor recommendation is read the label. If there’s chemicals in it.. it’s a NO for me.

I am 58 and have a very good complexion. This is what I have found to be true. Your lipid barrier has to be very strong and healthy to have radiant skin with a high glow. You can acheive a very strong, healthy lipid barrier by using a good quality chemical exfoliant on a regular basis. Once you acheive this status (strong lipid barrier) you can pretty much use anything on your skin and it will always look great. The maintenance will be very minimal. You can just cleanse once a day (I do it only in the morning) and use any old moisturizer. Nothing will irritate my skin at this point, because my outer barrier is so strong and healthy. This is crucial.

Thanks for this video! I just subscribed to your channel… we’re the same age so it’s nice to see recommendations that work for our age group. I used tretinoin and it caused dermatitis. I looked like a rat when to town on my face 😩 My dermatologist said NEVER to use it again so I’m giving 4 new tubes to my friend. I’m taking a break from all products, only moisturizer for now - doctors orders! I can’t wait to try this serum when I get the ok from my derm!

You DO NOT need to wash your hair twice! That is a marketing ploy by the shampoo companies. They had a contest on how to sell more shampoo. The person that won the contest said put shampoo, repeat on your bottles. Learned this in college marketing.
