Fear is what makes us check both ways before we cross the road, we're taught while young that we must check both ways before we cross the road lest we be run over and be injured or die. Fear of heights is natural due to the fact that being on a high surface and close to the edge makes the chances of accidental death by falling much higher. Fear of spiders is also a natural thing, especially when many spiders possess venom capable of killing us. If this man was talking about 'Irrational' fear, I'd be more inclined to agree with whatever he's saying
