I did dr Tims small bottle half on day 1 and half on day 7 . I added ammonia drops on day 1 and day 6. I added fish and zero ammonia levels by day 14. I have WB 10 gallon with live sand and live rock and ceramic balls in the back tank. seems fine with 2 clowns.

I would have left the top on it. It reduces the need to replenishing the water.

I dose Dr. Tims 2 cap falls every other day. My tank is 2 years old.

You should not have removed the sponge. Filter sponges are meant to be a bastion for beneficial bacteria’s like what is contained in the additive you dosed. That should be obvious.

Its 9 days for the bacteria to to settle and essentially cover the surfaces, not a 9 day cycle. I used off the shelf ammonia and Microbacter xlm for a short 20 day cycle. keep up the great work...Luv the Vids

You have to also add ammonium chloride to the tank or else that bacteria isn’t going to do anything.

Can you run PAR on this tank? Don't forget to add dr Tim's ammonia if not adding fish. Turn off the light during the cycle. Dry rock and the bare bottom are going to be a nightmare, should just add live rock. as live rock cost more anyways.

Not enough place for bacteria to inhabit I would think. It will be interesting to see how long it will take to cycle

Put in some storm clowns and maybe a Discordipinna griessingeri? They are very unique in looks and behavior! And expensive for the size :)

I used it before and it did not work with what the instruction recommended so I got another bottle and just added the whole bottle and that did the trick. I also heard that some times if it gets too cold or hot or the bottle has been on the shelve too long, the bacteria might have died out. I also have used instant ocean's bio-spira and brightwell's microbacter start xlm and found the instant ocean worked the best.
