I can't believe Tali thinks this is exactly the same as warfronts ; )

Blizzard creates a new game and places into the Dragonflight menu - why ? It has nothing to do with WOW. I cannot use any of my characters, it has no wow classes, lore, or RPG elements.

It's a new game akin to Hearthstone except I don't have to grind reputation in Hearthstone to earn rewards in WOW

yeah not much fun for me i hate pvp and anything even remotely linked to it but, i tried it it was fun untill the very first player i came across and was like weeeee lets murder someone and killed me, it sucked. went back a few times but wasnt making much progress so i said f it!.. not a fan .

That person is me 😅 Start of every match I say, “I just want to complete the quest.” As long as I get the quest done for extra renown, I don’t care if I’m ganked after that. I’ve only managed to beat one person in the pvp portion 🤣

Ya'll prolly don't understand it but plunderstorm is to WoW what TFT is to league. Same engine, same launcher, same assets, different game.

This has nothing to do with Warfronts. The comparison is not a good one, honestly.

Every match has 1 winner, and 59 losers. That doesn't feel good. Almost everyone loses almost every match.

It feels kinda bad having these cool rewards tied to something that isn't really WoW and is ALSO a limited time event.

If it was a permenant feature I'd slowly get the rewards when I could be bothered but instead I'm stuck in this weird place of wanting the rewards for the game I actually play but not wanting to grind a game I don't in a short(?) time span.

Edit: Ok I take it back actually, I'm starting to get the hang of what items are good and just won my first match. Pretty fun lol

I wanna say it's straight up not true when green hair dye guy says the event "takes place entirely within world of warcraft". There is NO way my main or alts can do this event. This is a seperate game that runs on the same engine. Calling it a wow patch is frankly like calling twitter integration or hearthstone a wow patch. Just because elements of wow exists there doesn't mean our characters can engage in the "patch". Shameful.

8.10 minutes: every match feels different, your abilities will basicly be random.
Who tought it would be a good idea to do that in an RP game designed to upgrade, mold and gear your characters over a long period of time? I've played some matches, would love to get the rewards for my WoW characters, but I'm not putting myself through 40(!) levels of renown grinding in some weird, random pvp-ish game.

Not gonna argue with Tali, obviously lots of people are reminded of Warfronts. I will say it is a bit odd to hear that for me. I remember Warfronts were pitched to me as something that would give a WC3 vibe where there is base building and upgrades etc... So when I saw Plunderstorm, the last thing I thought was WC3. The first thing I thought was that they made PUBG in WoW.
Having said that, I completely understand that one would see killing mobs and rares in Arathi and get a first impression that it is similar to BfA patch 8.2. I would argue though that after playing even a single match of Plunderstorm that hardly anyone would still compare the experience to doing a Warfront.
I admit I was not excited to see Plunderstorm because I am not into battle royale games. However, I like it. As soon as I got all my keybinds straight again it felt good to play. I look forward to playing a few matches each day. I especially enjoy the feeling that I can expect to eventually obtain all the rewards in a reasonable amount of time and enjoy doing it. I can't say that about many collectible things in WoW.
I wouldn't be sad to see more stuff like this.

Like the idea, hate the obligation on pvp

for me it was your standard br... takes so long to load in that you're dead before you even get to see anything

"We wanted to do something a little different then what we've done in Dragonflight..." But the same thing EVERY SINGLE OTHER game today has done. Battle Royal not really my thing, but props to them, looks like they made a great game mode within the Wow Universe.

Hey Tali! I don't know if this has been said but but this bridges the gap for consoles. Less buttons, directional targeting etc

I hate it with a passion, but it's the only way to get the mounts and pets. So will be a long long grind to get them. If I can be bothered playing it any longer now I reached renowed 5 after 4 days trying it. I wouldn't be playing WOW if i did like those other types of games.

Gathering lumber, amassing troops, and charging into the enemy base is literally exactly what 20-years-ago me was expecting from a game called World of Warcraft before I ever played it because that's just what "Warcraft" meant. Your point that "warfronts aren't what people were looking for when they bought the game" couldn't be further from my experience. Personally.

You cant use your character, and it has unique mechanics. That's why it's a different game (not a content update), and the psychological difference between it and warfronts.

Saw a mobile add about getting skills per fight with wow chars. Good to see the semi living Devs are willing to scrape the barrels bottem. GG wow.

I was hoping to captain a pirate ship and travel . Kinda like blackflag on Assassin's creed

They're trying to get more players from COD to play WOW and more WOW players to play COD.

I really gave it try after reading survival guide. I thought I was prepared but I was not. 1m after landing, I was about to pick up 2nd abilities, someone 3lvl higher than me, charged through the storm behind me and 1shotted me. So I got to next match thinking no big deal, I can grind this like PvE content. Nope, just nope, got ganked by 2 fire tornadoes after 1m. The 3rd match...the 4th match...the best I've ever gotten to was 2m with 2nd ability picked up. Nope, this blunterstorm is not for me.

Not a fan :( good for them for trying something fresh, love that! However, I wish it was compelling content associated with the main game

i loved how they said "it's pve for the first couple of minutes". Sure, maybe, if youre lucky. For the 30 mintues I tried it, I generally died within 3. I was done after several deaths. Not mad or anything, just done. Decided it wasn't for me. Went back to my other games and waiting for the next patch. I might jump back in for a bit on my days off since renown speed has been increased. I was stil renown 1 when I logged out of it.

looks somehow interesting, but i strongly dislike it because i dont like being forced to do pvp. i would really appreciate a pve only version

In the opening for the next weekly reset, you should get knocked off into the water by some jackass with a barrel only seconds after logging into plunderstorm XD

The thing they can do to make it more fair is not not allow people kill you if you are lower level than they are so a level 10 should not be rewarded for killing a lvl 2

He yelled at me a couple weeks ago for finding him rude towards his viewers, but on his second channel he's just a jerk that refuses to see other people's point of view even when you see a glint of understanding in his eyes.

Funny, that people argue about about pve this, pvp this, catch your horses, did anyone you play kid games when you were kids?
There are rules and there are actions you can take against other people, did you people played against a wall all your life? No offence, tho, chess can be played alone too, probably (no ai).
Remember playing things like darts in RL is still a game, even for adults, there are no kid games, there are only games.

There are no oceanic servers for plunderstorm so I kept getting put on 250 ping servers, combined with everything being skill shots is not a good mix. I was running after people and I'm pretty sure half of my melee swings were hitting empty air.

This is only a distraction to hide the fact that they don’t have any real content. This isn’t a patch for retail, it’s a stand alone side game like Warcraft Rumble. This could have been released on switch, or mobile.

For real tho, I just wanna do my mission, get my plunder and GTFO... I don't care for PvP one bit. Want the transmog set though so /shrug

I will say the fist day this came out i hated this. I did not gasp the idea of it then i went into it solo yesterday and i liked it better because i would sneak across the map and get the things i wanted to get and die. I am not much into the pvp part. I will say the pve aspect go here do this collect that i am your gal for that i am not into woopin anyone's butt

I get ganked in this so much the first couple of minutes. This, to me, is absolute misery and I'll be so relieved once it's over. But I'm an RPer and I want those mogs for my RP.

A Player Kill Player type of game but for suckas cause that's what gamers are nowadays

Called it a PKP type of game because that was the only way they could sell to Runescapers, Fortniters, MoBa, and PvP/PvErs

I've been playing some for the rewards, get my plunder and die. If there weren't rewards I don't think I'd keep playing it much.
A Helldivers 2 parody like this would be funner, co-op PvE...Call it something like the Swarm and have us killing Silithids that are emerging in droves. Maybe push them back from various zones they're encroaching into.

I enjoyed warfronts, just wish they'd have done more with them. They felt very Warcraft but they didn't put much effort into them past the two we got.

Plunderstorm is not my cup of tea, it's a unique twist on the battle royale genre, it is more PvP than PvE as PvP feels like an easier way to get loot by attacking fellow players who have been doing the PvE side. I was hoping for something pirate related in retail like an in-game event like the superbloom or time rifts etc involving the coastal areas of azeroth. If people like the loot you can get from Plunderstorm but don't want to play it, hopefully blizz can do something for those players like put them on the trading post (Which I think might happen after the plunderstorm event ends). For me, I'm avoiding Plunderstorm as it's not my cup of Tea as I mentioned Earlier

It makes sense that the guy who looks like a fortnight streamer is the one that came up with the idea of putting a worse knock off fortnight in wow. The only way you can avoid pvp in this is to not play at all. The only reason i am forcing myself to play this garbage is because i want the collectables.

I would like too know what drugs the Blizzard team where taking for this.
