Disney in DENIAL: Head of Disney Parks Claims Epic Universe Will HELP Not HURT WDW Attendance!

Disney your done. Everywhere I go I hear people planning for Epic Universe. Last night at church they’re all planning to go. No one mentioned Disney.

Horse and buggy maker to Henry Ford, cars will be good for our buggy business we aren’t worried.

If you want to have a great time visit ‘Dollywood’. Disney lost its ‘MAGIC’, am so happy I experience Disney when it was fun and finishing my day with the fireworks. That was 20 years ago.

I think the failing in the logic is, the basis seems to be these 10 million will be additions to what already comes. ora significant portion will be an addition. what if the vast majority is from the number of people who already visit Orlandoo theme parks? if that is the case, then how does an increase in Epic UniverseattendanceNOT cause a drop in WDW attendance???????

Maybe Disney should bundle Epic universe tickets in their packages.

I know my job didn’t give me any extra PTO days whenever epic opened up so whenever you have only a finite days of day off you pick where you wanna go and sometimes things take priority

Disney should not open a fifth gate! They should fix the four they already have!

Havent been to Universal since 2001, went for Epic, stayed in a Uni hotel for 4 days.. Way cheaper than Disney.. Im going to go again, for Halloween Horror nights.. They have my buisness.. Disney should be worried..

I don't have confidence that Disney will come up with a good plan to combat Epic. Stating they have been in the parks business for a long time doesn't reflect what they have been currently doing. Success is not a guarantee. We shall see.

I think one angle Disney is probably aware of, but I haven't heard spoken about...the home base.

Where will these 10 million people stay?

When Disney offered Magical Express, I could make an arguement that I would stay at WDW and go to Uni for one or two days, and spend the rest of the time at Disney, because it was convenient as I was on property.

Now, Universal offers a threat with all their hotels. Uni becomes home base, and WDW becomes the extra day or two.

Think of the lost revenue at the hotels...that's massive. And, I think Disney doesn't see that coming (or doesn't want to admit it publicly).

It used to be people would spend 4 days at WDW and 2 at Universal. It probably is flipped now.

I really believe Josh D. is saying all of this to appease Boob Iger. Hopefully once Josh is named CEO and away from Boob's nasty satanic influence he will say what he wants to say, but unfortunately cannot for fear of being overlooked. God help Disney if I'm wrong.

If Disney says that park attendance will increase, I imagine that they will find a way to make it look that way, even if that means redistributing money from another department to purchase tickets from the theme parks themselves.

To be honest, I do think some families will do both parts if they can afford it and especially if they have little ones, for example I have three little ones that are three years old and younger and I think Disneyland would be more suitable for them then universal Studios we are more limited on activities but people with older kids for sure will opt out Disney and go to Universal when my kids are older. I definitely plan on going to Universal.!!

We got tickets to epic universe when they first went on sale and we are doing the three park package so we could get the epic universe tickets. The only thing we are doing Disney related is Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party because I feel like that is worth the price of admission for the lower crowd, levels and being able to ride pretty much anything you want without having to wait in line for three hours.None of the other Disney parks have anything I feel are worth spending money on especially Animal Kingdom that has like five attractions and even Hollywood Studios has I think seven rides? They do not offer enough at their parks to justify what they charge. They can only get by on the Disney name for so long before people start realizing it’s not worth the money anymore.

Just went to MK yesterday. The park is nasty! I’ve never seen it so dirty. It literally smelled like bourbon street in New Orleans. The rides kept breaking down, construction walls everywhere, a huge crane in the skyline of Thunder Mountain. Nothing but rude foreigners and gays. Food is terrible and the cast members couldn’t look more miserable to be there. It’s definitely on a decline. $180 to enter the park, plus the $30 to park. Happy to say, I’ll never return. Not another dime will they get from me. So long, Disney!! The magic is gone!!

On a related note, Disney just dropped a new villains' show called "Unfairly Ever After;" about how all the main villains are "misunderstood."
It's not only a shallow approach to EU's "Dark Universe," but another example of Disney romanticizing evil, like "The Acolyte."

We banned together to boycott poor Snow White, maybe Disney parks needs us to do the same!

Even Disney travel agents are in denial. Had a discussion with a woman on line were I live in bel air Maryland yesterday. Travel agent for Disney. I asked her if half the rides are closed . It cost 5 grand for a family of 4 for 3 days. Not including food.why would you waste your money? Her answer? Sorry you feel that way

I am watching this video from our nice room at the Stella Nova right now, and eagerly anticipating our visit to Epic Universe bright and early tomorrow morning, and the other Universal parks over the next three days. And, we will be buying some merch there.

Guess where we are NOT going? Disney! We have ZERO interest in going to Disney ever again. The sheer arrogance of their management disgusts me, and Disney will never get another PENNY from us.

I have family who are addicted to Disney. I don’t see them changing their habits anytime soon. Some family have dropped them hard. I think Disney is expecting their hard core fans to come through.

I went to Orlando just for Universal Studios because Disney was too expensive and too much hassle with the Genie+ BS to get on the rides

I booked a mid level 6 day trip to Disney for my wife and I no park hopper. 4200. I got an estimate for 5 adult 1 child and 6 days at portofino park hopper. 9000.

Universal in Japan is much better.

The little touches, the sightlines, the cohesive theming, the overall cleanliness, the ride maintenance, the value; these are what made Disney the king for so long, and they gave it all up, like so many companies, to chase profits.

Jonas, I have to disagree. That's not what little kids want. That's what they (my 6 year old saw the video and demanded I take her) and their parents want. My friends and I grew up playing Mario, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Country. I want this park!
On a serious note I liked Star Wars land, seeing the Falcon up close and going down the iconic corridor, we love Star Wars but there is a definite flatness to it. It sort of looks like a Star Wars place but they should have gone with a well known planet or location. FWIW I think the cast in the costumes do a great job (others do too) as they bring life to it. To me it feels like they went all out and then got bored and decided to half do it.

Josh says, “they have to see Star Wars”. Not even an original Disney IP. They were lucky enough to buy Star Wars to keep them afloat

I'm going to FL this week with my Disney Princess obsessed toddler, and we opted for Epic. My sister has a little boy who is the perfect age for Mario and I've always loved Nintendo (well up until recently 😒) so we opted for something that would appeal to all of us. My daughter can't wait to meet Peach and go to "Peachy's" castle! 😂

I plan on going to Epic and Universal in December of this year. I will not be going to Disney World. I'd love to see Star Wars, but not in Florida. I will go to California for Disney Land. It's much more affordable and you only have 2 parks to see and do everything. you can stay across the street much cheaper, and walk into the park, so no fees for parking. Disney World is too big, too expensive, and too crowded. Never again!

People cannot afford to visit both parks!!!

"WOKE". I type the word because Disney is WOKE. What is significant about them being WOKE is that WOKENESS means destruction! They are INCAPABLE of anything creative in nature! They CAN'T DO IT! If they could-they would have by now! Being WOKE is the antithesis of the theme park world! You MUST be able to create and be creative to succeed in movies & entertainment. Since Disney went WOKE, they have lost the ability to be creative-hence have destroyed EVERYTHING they have touched!

They ONLY THING that WOKENESS can create is destruction! And in their WOKENESS they are also BLIND! That's why they do not see the impending DOOM they have created for themselves! I could spend the next 10,000 words I type sighting example after example, after example of what they have done to themselves.

Add to their WOKENESS the terrible lack of $$ needed to be able to respond in any kind of meaningful way!

Business textbooks will be written about how the WOKENESS of the house of mouse led to its destruction! As someone who was a borderline "Disney Adult" I long for what the Disney company used to be. Alas-those days are LOOOOONNNNNGGGGG gone since they embraced the WOKE religion!
