Doesn’t removing the locking hub make the pinion rotate all the time? I would think you’d like to just spin the unit hubs instead of the pumpkin and t case all the time....

I just picked up an 06 F350 and everything I get for it has to be for and F450. The U-joints for the stock F350 axle are way too small and the ball joint for the track bar also had to be for an F-450 so I'm trying to figure out what axle I have exactly

Contemplating this route or chromoly stubs. I'm running 08 D60 with 1550 joints on a Jeep with 43 stickies and I have broken 2 stub shafts in 4 months. May try just chromoly stub shaft with superjoints (branik) or this approach!
