man your research is incredible
ОтветитьMy guess is that it's called white in comparison to the other darker ketchups. You could use it in a white sauce without adding much colour.
ОтветитьYou only fail to put ketchup on steak because you're scared.
ОтветитьI need to know that John Townsend and Max have exchanged ketchup recipes
ОтветитьI mean, it's fine to put ketchup on a steak if that's what you like.
ОтветитьI love anchovies🫠
ОтветитьHow about making a copycat of Lee&Perans white chicken marinade, which is no longer sold. We miss this product!!
ОтветитьI hate ketchup. Lol. Ok, I'm weird. Sue me! Mayo or mustard all day long - yes. Tomato ketchup? No thanks.
ОтветитьMayonnaise goes on french fries.
Ответить😂😊
ОтветитьJust FYI in Indonesia we have thick and sweet soy sauce called Kecap, so yeah it's so interesting.
ОтветитьFor what it's worth - at the supermarket the other day I came across bottles of a brand of Japanese sauces on sale. I bought bottles of "Worcestershire Sauce", "Katsu Sauce" and "Takoyaki Sauce", took them home and tried them all. They're all more or less the same - the Katsu and Takoyaki sauces were essentially thicker Worcestershire sauce. They all work as dipping sauces for the likes of hash browns, croquettes and vegetable fritters.
ОтветитьWhat would be the recipe for the wallnut catsup?
ОтветитьCatsup is more Liquidity
ОтветитьIn an experiment I tried a mushroom ketchup recipe from a circa 1938 collection of home recipes. The final result was quite similar to Worcestershire sauce. Slightly salty an very thin. Probably should have reduced the mixture to get more body, but the sauce wasn’t bad on beef and pork.
ОтветитьUr so funny max
ОтветитьFun fact: there is a such thing as a lethal amount of nutmeg
Be careful out there, Kings
Sometimes being a psycho works and you end up putting ketchup even in soup.
ОтветитьI would probably try it. I like horseradish in an indian way.
ОтветитьJust don't get caught with kitchners girlfriend (norm Mcdonald humor)
ОтветитьGo to Hell👀 ... O fresh 😳
ОтветитьHow did you not note the lack of tomatoes when listing the ingredients? Am I the only one hearing/seeing this?
ОтветитьThe white sauce you made here sounds a lot like Alabama White Sauce that's used on chicken.
ОтветитьI would put it on a steak. I would about put it on anything .
ОтветитьSteak sauce is just spiced ketchup! Lol
ОтветитьAlmost sounds like a light mustard
ОтветитьHuh, had no idea Ketchup had such a history behind it. Seems like Heinz was very good at his job making his brand synonymous with ketchup as we know it today to the point there's practically no other kind of ketchup except the ones made with tomato.
ОтветитьWhen I was in Indonesia the ketchup was a ubiquitous condiment at restaurants that was like a sugary-syrupy soy sauce. Don't think there was any fermented fish in it.
ОтветитьBrilliant ❤
ОтветитьI wonder if the preservatives used until the early 1900s were worse than the ones used today.
ОтветитьI learned through Weird Explorer that you can make ketchup out of pretty much anything. And that I happen to have the right tools for it.
Ответитьi like ketchup
ОтветитьI have been watching a channel that is all about the 18th and 19th century. They talk about mushroom ketchup quite often. Could you do a recipe for that?
ОтветитьHow long should you boil it for? 30-40 minutes like the garum?
ОтветитьWhat is Mace? Google tells me it's nutmeg. But nutmeg is in here aswell.
ОтветитьHere in indonesia we still use the term “kecap”. The weird part is that ut can reffer to a lot of thing from fish sauce, soy sauce, or even Worcestershire sauce
ОтветитьCan I ask
What is the evolution sence ketchup start to display in the market?
I LIVE IN SWEDEN HERE KIDS PUT IT ON EVERYTHING, EVEN PANCAKES THEY LOVE KETCHUP HERE IN SWEDEN😍 ME MYSELF I LOVE HEINZ KETCHUP AND THE SECOND BEST IS FELIX-KETCHUP A SWEDISH BRAND💙💛
Ответитьmr burns would've had a real hard time knowing what condiment to buy in 1831
ОтветитьWow, the amount of nutmeg is enough to cause a minor hallucination for some people.
ОтветитьI thought "ketchup" word or as we say it "kicap" here in Malaysia, were a word of western origin.
Today I learn otherwise.
Hah,the more u know I guess😁.
in north America mushroom was the most common ingredient.
ОтветитьHaha. My Thai friends tried to make 30 gallons of fish sauce called plala(garum)in America and the police showed up because their neighbors thought someone died 😂
ОтветитьWhite Ketchup is actually Horsey sauce 😅😂😅😂, Ketchup Must have tomato. 1800s, she knew about tomato Ketchup and just called her sauce that.
ОтветитьI remember green and purple ketchup and how it permanently stained some of my mom's hand towels when my sister and I were toddlers lol
Ответить
