Now do a drone swarm that shoots. Because nothing is scarier to me than a drone swarm that heads for a target and opens fire when at a medium range. They can still detonate if needed but I think it would be funny to see a small swarm of drones that drop smaller drones and watch them fly at a target. But to see then open fire as they draw near. Regardless of what they are firing. Scary. I can imagine a carrier drop into an area. Drop a few "protector" ships Something that you drop in an area and forget about it. It will then deploy its swarm which will attack any players that enter a certain radius and weaken them at the very least. The idea is they are deploy and forget weapons. A space mine if you would.

Hmm.... not much range puts this build more as a area denial/skirmisher role. Useful for retreats or opening moves for small battles.

Would this work with a singleplayer game?

You could release them in waves, so they could colide less. Like Star Wars Episode One Droid Delivery Tank, the "MMT".

Cant wait for them adding AI know after its stated for end of 2022.

now you just need to add super lasers to all of them and make a mini death star swarm

The weapons systems you can make in this game are just so impressive.

Now you need to get multiple and attack an enemies space station

in a way, this could be more terrifying than the death star, imagine your just feeding your animals when you feel a sharp pain in your back. your mother comes to check on you, just to see a human slurry.

That would be cool as orbital defenses

In a war? don't worry, Just stuff your gigantic mothership with a few of these, deploy them on a losing battle, and then watch the fireworks

All these drones and drone ships and stuff are really starting to remind me of the drones and drones ship from Stargate universe hey that would be a pretty cool idea for you to try and build a drone carrier!

omggg imagine having a huge ship with like, 12 of these swarm pods and surrounding a planet and infesting it

maybe gun drones with explosives in them allowing them to fire at the target befor the collide and detonate

so the det issue is theoretically simple, either pre arm all warheads at launch or expand sensor range, however, where the design is now i would instead hook all them up with decoy blocks and us them as a cover for a gunship or snipe ship

is it possible to replicate them with welders and if i had enough could i make a swarm of drones so thick that it blocks incoming damage

Im very knew in this game so dont laugh with my question: Can you do that with any ship design? For example, inside a fully protected hangar in the middle of the ship with hangar door. Or when you "release" them they will be destroyed inside the carrier before they go out from the hangar door? Also, you just need to click "auto pilot" and "release" buttons? thank you in advance :)
