i got a copy for exactly that price, if anyone wants it.
ОтветитьI need to move closer to you if there are stores selling Chrono Trigger for $250.
ОтветитьChrono trigger on PS1 is better than snee, comes with final fantasy 4 and is 30 bucks cib btw. You're just choosing to complain.
ОтветитьI wish i would have kept my game consoles and games instead of selling them off every time i upgraded. I had a decent enough PS1 library, but outstanding libraries for my og Xbox and especially the Dreamcast that i wish i would have held onto to make a killing selling them to these suckers err... Collectors online. I'm sorry but no video game ever made is worth more than maybe $50, it blows my mind when i hear about games selling for hundreds or thousands of dollars. Thats insane.
Ответитьvoice chased me away fkn annoying
ОтветитьJust bundle everything into another subscription service 😂
ОтветитьIt's crazy to believe metal gear solid 4 is still only on ps3
ОтветитьOne word for you - TOSEC. That's it. Do not suckle on corporate cock. Follow the word of Gaben - only way to compete with piracy is to provide better service. Most of these companies do not. So screw 'em. Sail the high seas.
ОтветитьAt least Konami watched this video and released the MGS Master Collection. Even if we’re still waiting for the next volume to finally get MGS4 on anything but the PS3. And then there’s also the Silent Hill 2 remake, even if I still hope that all of the original games will end up getting ported eventually.
ОтветитьYeah you are a clown if you go full digital you are paying to license it…you don’t own it
ОтветитьWhy would you buy the physical copies off of eBay when that money isn't even going to the developers but just some random dude or a middle man pre-owned retailer who is gouging you. No thanks. There's nothing morally wrong with downloading a game that isn't available in stores in my opinion, especially when it doesn't support the devs. Not to mention that even when they do make them available you're often just paying for a service which they can remove when they wish <cough> sony <cough> and often times you don't get the game but a remake with completely different graphics, modified game mechanics and removed content.
ОтветитьMakes me sick, destroyed my hobby…should have saw it coming.
ОтветитьThey have since brought back TTYD, which is nice.
ОтветитьAll games should be banned except chess maybe. They are a waste of time.
ОтветитьAt the end of the day, retro gaming will be preserved by the community, not by the owners and there isn't anything the copyright owners can do about it. Sure Nintendo can sue people and force them to take down ROM sites, but everytime a site gets shutdown, 1,000 more open up. It's a losing and mostly pointless battle.
The answer is quite simple, piracy and emulation preservation efforts will end the day these copyright owners create easily accessible, affordable, and quality services to get these games legitimately.
People stopped downloading music as soon as Spotify became a proper service, people stopped downloading movies as soon as we got quality streaming services and even with games, things like Steam have all but eliminated the need for piracy. Sure there will always be pirates for pirates sake, but most people are reasonable. Give them a quality service and they will stop piracy.
Oh... I got a Jolly Roger waving high in the skies... :-)
ОтветитьYou don't own digital games period it is inferior and stupid to act like it is better
Ответитьyou know what is amusing, back in the day some titles, say, Keio 2 for the sega saturn was completely trashed because it was 2D and a silly platformer, and because of that hardly anyone bought a copy and only limited amounts circulate, on the other hand you have piles of chrono crosses for the japanese PSX because it sold like hot cakes. Guess which one is the priciest and difficult to get, serves collectors right for not buying good games when you all had the chance.
ОтветитьThe Internet has killed video games
ОтветитьEmulation is the only way forward.
ОтветитьA game's age should not dictate price, only quality
ОтветитьPut on your pirate hat you can get any game you want.
ОтветитьIt is the second "Atari Shock" or "Atari Shokku".
The Atari Shock is the curse of Videogame employees.
1996. An alliance between Sony, Nintendo and SEGA.
"Creativity, Break-Through Technology and Employees first. Money and Greed for the Aliens."
2004. The alliance celebrated its 8th Anniversary. There were 19 members. The Entire Videogame Market flourished. Japanese's Law and Culture prohibited Greed on it. A second "Atari Shock" was only a Bad Dream.
2006. The PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 were the State of Art of "Atari Shock Generation". Many Videogame Employees created these consoles as a memorial for all the suffering of the First Atari Shock.
What will it happen?

Hey! Tetris 2! I love that game! I always play it online! I have played the NES game, but the Game Boy version is my favorite. Plus, depending on what ROM you're using to play Game Boy/NES/SNES games online, you can add or enhance your gameplay experience by, for example, altering the color pallette or adding certain CRT filters. It's truly great!
This is one of the reasons for me why emulation of older games is so cool, and there are probably dozens of people who enjoy this method of gaming as well!
Also you are stupid to go all digital for games.
Stupid.
This is exactly why physical media shouldn't die. Going only with downloadable/hosted versions means you never truly own what you pay for, so companies can take it away from you whenever they want. I can pop my Chrono Trigger cartridge into an SNES, SNES clone, Analog Super Nt, etc and play it regardless of what Square-Enix wants.
ОтветитьYou can thank flippers/resellers for this. They are the ones that buy up retro-games, or clear out stores to then mark up prices x100 the price they got it for, even lowballing people for them and ripping them off for, profit. Now any retro-game that you find that is highly favored by audiences will be $200+ online. One of the only solutions some small stores have against these people, is to not mark their games with prices to sell, and require you to ask at the front desk.
Its ridiculous. It hurts actual collectors, it hurts bargain hunters, and its just a scummy practice. Do not support these people who brag about it. Trying to resell a $20 game for $200 or $2000. Its rough knowing digital releases are not forever and unreliable, and physical games are just being bought up by flippers, it turns retro-collecting into a new budget. They inflate "the value" themselves far too high, if they are the ones selling it for $200 and then leading to other stores or flippers matching it online, to then make all games $200+. I don't even know what the real value of some games are anymore. Older Pokemon games being $500 now?
Unfortunately piracy is the only way to preserve these games forever, some really obscure games were lost to time but thanks to piracy a lot of them are still around, which is very cool.
Piracy is questionable but if you really want these games to never disappear, then this is the only way, but not the only option.
I feel like whay these companies could do is make a website and upload all of the roms for a certain price, and then you can just play on a emulator, I know that rom sharing would still be mire accessible, but there is people (including myself) who would buy them.
There's only 3 real things that are the main enemies of Physical Media; fire, water, and theft.
Ответитьremeber. YOU ARE A PIRATE
ОтветитьHah...Who gives a f*ckabout these RETROWAVE bullsh*t?? Japan shouldn't follow these RETROWAVE they're just garbage of the past, you should forgetabout these OLDSTUFF.
Ответитьso they got on that metal gear
were you dissapointed like everyone else?
If I ever pay that much they are getting a bad review lol
ОтветитьThank fucking christ for emulators dawg
ОтветитьIt’s been terrible to try to find retro games
Everything is stupid expensive
Digital games can be great until servers and stores shut down. And it’s possible someone could hack into your account worth $10000s
um ya know...
there are programs and apps called emulators right? and with a quick google search you can find any game for any console and just... play them on emulators, right?
I read thru a lot of these comments and the general consensus and I agree with this is this whole problem is a non issue because of emulation. Not sure why this video doesn’t go into anything about emulation. All of these games you’ve talked about are totally available and playable right now and for free. If these companies want to leave money on the table that’s up to them. As for the re sell market I can’t get mad at supply and demand at work. They only made 700k virtual boys sold barely any Young Samson games so these are rare and a lot of people want them so like I said supply and demand. Just get retro arch lol
ОтветитьEmulation is your friend. Screw the reseller "collectors."
ОтветитьI refuse to pay $300 to some dude that has some old game cartridge that I want to play or revisit. Not happening, ever. They can stuff their cartridges up their a$$.
I also don’t want to play remasters, remakes or rehashes with altered art, altered stories, altered characters, altered ANYTHING.
If I can’t buy it directly from Nintendo or in a physical or digital store, it’s fair game.
vimms collection got wrecked by sega, nintendo and sony and other brands
ОтветитьAHEM... Piracy? Get the newest consoles that are backwards compatible with old consoles or have emulators on them and mod them. For example- the Xbox 360 for og Xbox games, the PS3 for PS1 and PS2, the Wii for everything that came before it.
Ответитьhell, the adventure games have lighting issues and glitches and bugs, so yeah!
playing the dreamcast version is the best version or you can just mod your PC version of sonic adventure to play it like it should've been.
fuck video game collecting, buy a anbernic device, cuz really..
is nintendo gonna seriously sue you for playing super mario galaxy 2 on the emulator? (answer : yes)
Literally the reason the hardware and software retro community is thriving is BECAUSE of the cost of the original games.
ОтветитьCartridge batteries can be replaced. Discs don't rot anywhere near as much as the internet wants you to think they do, unless you don't take care of them and then it's just your own fault.
ОтветитьGood problem analysis.😸👍🎶
Digital-Only releases have their pro and cons. But it is only a phase because:
Human Evolution --》New interests --》New "Things we want" --》People say "We want to touch our objects of interests." --》Gaming Industry adapts its output --》They release a physical edition's game --》It is a good game and people are buying it. --》Someone says: "How do we preserve this masterpiece?" --》Digital Release after 6 years --》People are happy and Gaming Industry earns XP points for new wonderful games. --》Human Evolution.
And the cycle is endless.
Now, Gaming Companies aren't Divine Creatures. That is because:
They don't listen consumers' interests --》People lose interests in "Gaming Hobby." --》Gaming Companies' workers lose their jobs. --》End of the Gaming Companies.
They exist because there are people behind them; there aren't "Digital-Only Release" Humans or substitutes of Humans.
Physical media is always existing in the future.
