Can't wait for Avengers Secret Wars in 2026. It's gonna be bloody epic, with all MCU characters, even the dead ones brought back to life, gathering up in Battle World to run the Beyonder's experiments of good vs evil.
ОтветитьTitanic proves movies suck today cause no cartoon or AI BS is doing better -
Ответитьlast movie i saw was jaws 1975 when first come out never seen a movie since
Ответитьno bloodsport? no karate kid?, but rocky...thats ok.
ОтветитьThe films at the start were in my mind far stronger than in the final league table. I loved the way Titanic shot in at number one in the blink of any eye. Obviously went down well!!
Ответитьdid anyone notice that the 3 parts of The Lord of the Rings together (which is really 1 movie) would be well in front at the top of the list ($4.2 billion)?
ОтветитьStar Wars not leaving the top 3 until 1994 is awesone, but Spielberg and Cameron are the real money makers here
ОтветитьWho is happy to see LOTR up there? Amazing films!!
ОтветитьI knew ET was a big deal but i didnt know that it was a BIG DEAL financially.
ОтветитьDoes this count for inflation?
ОтветитьLETS ALL HANDSDOWN TO THE TECHINACAL TEAM ESPCIALY THE VFX TEAM..
Ответитьthis world has degraded
ОтветитьAVATAR? I don't even know a single person who saw it.
ОтветитьSo E.T have been at the top for like 20 YeArS?!?!!!
ОтветитьI think the headline should say even inflation can’t beat avatar
ОтветитьLot of crap on that list in the last 5 years. I may have seen 3 total on the last listing.
ОтветитьThis is like watching my entire life all over again. Incredible!
ОтветитьLove how ET and Titanic we're like "Excuse me, coming through."
ОтветитьApple Music for the sound quality.
ОтветитьWhat no Captian Marvel? :)
ОтветитьI don't recall star wars being that popualr back in the day but i remember ET being EVERYWHERE and was really popular.
ОтветитьThe list isnt adjusted for inflation, population increase or the fact that American movies can now be seen by more nations and people that ever before.
ОтветитьWow ET was there for a long time, and I still managed not to see it.
ОтветитьWhile the raw dollar numbers are interesting it would be nice to see something comparing the number of admissions paid. Give some adjustment for inflation. I realize that the bookkeeping would be very difficult so I don't really expect to see that but it would give a better feeling for how popular the movies were.
ОтветитьSince you're using "movie-ticket admission reports" as your source data, presumably you're not including merchandising and other revenue (TV fees etc.). As such, it'd be interesting to see just the actual BOS figures - you also then wouldn't have to keep adjusting for inflation.
(I was surprised Sound Of Music wasn't in there, at least at the start.)
NEVER would I have guessed E.T. made so much money, and I graduated in '81.
ОтветитьPlease update in 2024, i want to see Taylor Swoft and Barbie show some dominance. Hahahahha😂😢😅😂
ОтветитьAnd for 2023, Taylor Swift followed by Barbie probably take the top spots. Hajahhahahah
ОтветитьYeah. Apart from The Godfather and Titanic the only way to make a living in film is to make kids films, comic book heroes and sci fi /fantasy Sad really.
Ответитьthe fact that Avatar never crossed 3Billion...
ОтветитьThis proves what we’ve known all along. Phantom Menace is the true GOAT
ОтветитьWith a couple of exceptions, that is a list of completely shitty films
ОтветитьNever understand why people like avatar it's so bad
Ответитьwhere is morbius who sold 1.5 billion ticket?
ОтветитьI never liked E.T.
ОтветитьThat was cool. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhere's Captain America Civil War
ОтветитьStar Wars shot up like Han in the falcon 😮😮😮
ОтветитьIs inflation taken into consideration? I mean the cost of a movie like Avatar in 2009 was 5 times more than it was to see Star Wars in 1977.
Ответитьnow do inflation adjusted
ОтветитьI just realized I gave up on hollywood 25 years ago.🎉
ОтветитьThis isn't adjusted for inflation so is meaningless
ОтветитьHarrison Ford in like 25% of these movies bow down.
ОтветитьDoes that make Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein the best Comedy Movies of all time?
ОтветитьIts ET and Titanic that really are the top 2 based on the fact there from the 80s and 90s with the inflation dif.
One question tho, where is casino royal and skyfall because i know for a fact they were massive income films?
George Lucas made some certified bangers damn bro!
ОтветитьI'm confused how Et only made 680m when it came out. How did it make gross sales of 1.4 billion more after that in gross sales I'm confused.
ОтветитьAbsolute garbage movies from 2012 on.
ОтветитьSurprised Avatar and ET so high so long. They are my least favorite movies on the list.
ОтветитьHahaha avatar sucks. What a boring movie.
