This film really took me by surprise. The trailer doesn't really resemble the film all that well. As this trailer makes it appear as this film is yet another common, generic horror flick. It's not. The horror elements of this film are very human, instead of them being paranormal or based around jumpscares. If it were up to me, I wouldn't even categorize it under the genre that is: horror. Even though there is a certain terror present within the film. It is ultimately a heartwrenching story about devotion, grief and unconditional love. To anyone who's having doubts about watching it, don't. "The Orphanage" is, probably, one of the best films I've ever seen and easily steals a spot on my: top ten list of best films ever created! So, anyone who isn't really into horror, watch it! Anyone who's anxious about subtitles, get over it and watch it! After watching it, you can all return to this post to pay a form of gratitude. In the meantime, I'll be watching this masterpiece for a second time.

Notice how the trailer doesn't feature any of the foreign characters voices, and just the American Narrator speaks. talk about trying to fool you into thinking it's in English dialogue movie.

Horrible trailer for a great movie. The problem is I don't think you can really make a trailer that represents the movie without spoiling it. It's a slow burner - people who like loud noises and things jumping out are going to be disappointed. It's more of an intense emotional roller coaster told through a richly layered story that you have to pay attention to the entire time. Then the drop the hammer on you in the last half hour or so. I've seen it probably 10 times and the ending is still a beautiful, bittersweet gut punch every time. Wish someone would make more movies like this.

"The Orphanage"(2007) is an excellent supernatural horror movie! The hide and seek scene was atmospheric, spooky, and very inspiring!

Everybody who saw this movie was moved by what she did. But the moment he hurt his own mother without even caring...I stoped caring for the kid. If I had directed that movie, she would have left him behind in the Afterlife, returned to the world of the living, and one or two years later, adopted a new child, later visiting his son's grave, telling him with a smile and a voice tone that implied anything but love, "I'm gonna do things right with this one.".
