Another SEO Case Study - This time from one of my clients.

Over the past 28 days, our client in the health niche has impressively achieved over 100k a month in organic traffic. It's been a rewarding journey watching them reach this milestone on SEMrush in just a little over three years. While there was a recent dip in their metrics, we swiftly acted to recover, and the situation wasn't as dire as it seemed on SEMrush. Google Search Console revealed it was more of a plateau than a drop.

This client has been with me for several years, and their growth pattern has been consistent. Over the last 16 months, we've observed two significant spikes in their traffic. The first spike can be attributed to the seasonality inherent to the health space. The second spike, however, had a different origin.

Two main events propelled this website above the 100k a month mark. Firstly, during the plateau period, we made some pivotal changes to the website. Instead of venturing into new topics, we rejuvenated older content that had lost its traction. The niche allowed us to seamlessly integrate product mentions in these how-to guides. We took it a step further by adding our competitors as alternatives, providing external links to their sites. This strategy, although counterintuitive, made our content the most relevant in the space.

Secondly, a Google update seemed to favor our changes. There was a core Google update around August 22nd, and while such updates typically cause fluctuations, our client began seeing positive results around that time.

The majority of the website's traffic is driven by high-quality blog posts, meticulously crafted by industry experts. With around 200 indexed blog posts, the challenge was the saturation of topics. Our solution was to refresh older content, making it more relevant and competitive.

Backlinks also played a crucial role. While the content naturally attracted backlinks due to its quality, we enhanced this by adding more 'link bait' to the content. We highlighted key statistics and conclusions, making it easier for others to link back to us. To further boost our backlink profile, we engaged in digital PR and utilized HARO, securing high-authority backlinks, notably from Sports Illustrated.

In essence, our strategy was simple yet effective: revamp old content, create a link bait mechanism, and harness the power of HARO. The best part?
