Honestly Rev, this is probably the most interesting video I've seen on STFC. The game is huge and there is SOOO much and so many ways to play it's great to learn how others are playing especially those who are at the top of their game.

To me the game is about winning events. As long as you are ops 42+ and winning. That's what matters. It's a game.

Yeah I'm sorry but the non-f2p treasury makes a HUGE difference in g5. Not putting down what James did but it would NEVER happen if he was really f2p. Big deception you're brushing over this as if it's not important and still call him f2p

I want to know how he managed to get 3.5 million faction credits... Please do a video with him on that! I'm starving for faction credits at 49 and I'm not moving into the 50s until i have klingong and feds into the million for the new ships. I'm dying...

Rev, congrats. This is the best video produced on our community. I'm excited for part 2. As full f2p, I feel even more safe about my choices now. Rev, I enjoyed the video. It was one of the best ones you ever done, better than the camping ones you have done over the years. I like the 2 perspectives given, but would also like to hear from lite spender - monthly battlepass and the occasional pack. When JamesBondd when to 61, did he have G6 Ent D? Why T9 on G5 epic? T8 gives the next tier of the cube. Was it just habit of all the G6 cube levels are T9 for upping the tier of them? What tier of Selkie was good enough to get dailies starting out at ops 61. I'm asking because I'm at ops 59 working my way up to ops 60 next month and hopefully 61 in the near future and would like to be prepared.

JB has done amazing for such small spend. But the treasury makes him equivalent to spending. F2p treasury is 3 g mats and 200kish lat. If he gets full treasury, he's getting all the mats and millions of lat. That shaves the common mats and speedups grind that a true f2p has. For the record. I'm not f2p

I haven't spent any money at all so far in the game and like the challenge of "earning" my way in the game without spending any actual money. So most likely it will stay that way. I might make an exception for an extra builder and/or research later on, but haven't thought about it too much yet. I'm the opposite of JB and spend lots of time at each ops level with goals being to try to get as strong as possible on each level as I see that as a fun challenge. So far I'm only Ops 16 after almost 1.5 years in the game. To some that might be stupid, but I'm having fun and I also just don't always have hours and hours to spend in the game. Some days I just do the dailies I have set as a goal and battle pass events and possible event store events. The strategy with doing dailies and events together is big with me as I sometimes need to do what I can to save time. But as long as I'm having fun it doesn't really matter how slow I go. 🙂

How do you get that wide screen view as seen throughout the video? Mods?

f2p, and I camped at 39 for about a year-ish because I was trying to follow the camping guide. I had all g3 epics maxed for most of that time but I was way behind on buildings and research. Also, I was trying to get a jelly and realized I would never get one at the rate I was pulling BPs. I would've moved on months earlier if I wasn't waiting for a jelly.

Enjoyed the video & interview. JB is amazing. Listening to him, his strategy, and his logic I came up with several questions. Is his back ground in computers, engineering, military? Is he a long time gamer and if so what other games? His logic and strategy seem quite advanced.

I've played 4 years, 3 months and spent £60. 10 days from going to ops 61 with treasury open. Its never been easier to be competitive

Been thinking about this some, but listening to JamesBond and how he only focuses on tickets that give him the RSS he needs. I feel like Scopely should add in a Rare Ticket Meta for the entire arc, where it's split into 3 milestones requiring 9/18/27 ticket events completed and get 1 rare ticket each milestone. This then gives F2P the ability to start getting rare tickets and collect the specific material/RSS they need. Letting players have some more freedom on event tickets.

I only buy the $20 pass and heading to 54, not sure it's given me much of a boost but i consider myself mostly ftp

Great work JB - imho Biggest bottleneck for F2P are rare Armada Cores and Faction credits - how did he solve that?

Its interesting to hear about not holding out too much, i found when i started i decided i never win SLB so i just whammed things down when i needed, then later on i played more "smart" and hung onto rss etc for events, and i always wondered what was better as you by pushing constantly you get little micro increases which all add up presumably. When 40 unlocked i pushed into it and others i was around same power/ops as stayed at 39, i am now well ahead of most of them by a month or two
