Good video. Your Red Dot is not a scope. Red Dots work best far forward on the rifle so you can have max Peripheral vision.

I’m in love with AR-15 and the unlimited customization options are just amazing. Not to mention it’s incredibly easy to shoot and you can build it to fit whatever situations or situations you want it to. I’ve never felt so safe now having one and training and setting it up for all types of potential engagements and I hope more people continue to buy them and explore their options. Man I just got myself all worked up I’ll be back in 5😁

Streamlight? There are a lot of American made lights that may not be as cheap but at least they are not made in China. I am disappointed about this recommendation.

I keep hearing 16" is the go-to. But I read some charts and the 20" is the most accurate (but hard to live with -- more weight). What's your take? thx

I'm admittedly new to this though I already have my AR. I'm not sure I understand the point of the light. I keep my doors locked with security bars and if I hear something at night, the last thing it seems I'd want to do is go look for the source. If it is a bad guy it seems that the light would scream "shoot here." I'd just call 911 from the bedroom and be ready to shoot if the door is breached. I don't have kids so I guess that could be the reason people want a light since it might be a kids room the guy is trying to get in to.

Probably the only one to admit it ....

Currently I'm running a AR-47 that has a 3x Prism optic w/ illuminated, etched reticle on top rail with 1x Rds on a 45° mount and 45° backup sights. Low profile 1000 lumens WML with pressure plate set up on the sides and a Magpul hand-stop kit. NiB Coated BCG w/ enhanced firing and extractor and Springfield LevAR ratcheting charging handle. 14.5 inch barrel with a pinned and welded 3-prong flash hider/flash can combo, 14 inch Radical Firearms RPR handrail.

Best AR under $1000 is the IWI Zion. The best AR under $2000 is a BCM or Daniel Defense. Best AR at $3000 is the Radian Model 1.

My advice is to buy at very least colt. Even the newer colts are gonna have pretty solid parts. Step up to bravo company or son of liberty gun works, sionics, Daniel Defense, geissele if you have the cash. All are duty grade guns that are worth the extra when u start learning and shooting more.

Just an observation, but your red dot is mounted too far to the rear for optimum efficiency.

Here's the order I think people should set up their rifle.
1: 16 inch barrel, flat top gun, with 15 inch rail. 1913 Picatinny all the way across the top, with M-LOK on the other sides.
2: Flip up MBUS sights so you can aim it.
3: Mags and ammo so you can start practicing with it.
4: Flashlight so you can see what not to shoot in the dark.
5: Attach a QD sling so that you can leave it off in the house, but use it at an outdoor flat range for practice.
6: Then you can add a red dot sight, like the Sig Saur Romeo 5 XDR. The 65 MOA ring really helps find the dot instantly, plus the ring can be turned off separately.

After that, I would say that magnification is a must. I use the Sig Saur Juliet 4 on my .450 build, and a Juliet 6 on my 5.56 builds. If you had some weird neighborhood problem, like they just had in Washington state, the end of your street could be 150 yards out, or further. Even urban stuff is not all CQB. You need PID before you go booger hookin the bang switch. You have to account for every freedom seed you send.

Just my thoughts. There are many ways to skin a cat. This just sounds like a good order to equip yourself so it can stay usable the whole time you build on it. I would love to hear all of your different wrong ideas. LOL I never mind hearing a new idea.

radical arms makes good ar-15s for the 600 dollar range. Add a streamlight for 130 dollars. Romeo 5 for 115 bucks.

I’m just gonna say this.
I personally feel as though an very closely sighted Laser is very much needed for Home Defense. Even more needed than an Optic/Sight when it comes to inside the Home. In a normal sized home.

I have a long 20" and a short carbine AR-15 and both just have the carry handle and A post iron sights. That's all you really need. No fancy optics or even flashlights on the end. If you shine a light at an intruder in your house, he'll likely try to shoot at the light, which is right where you are!!! No thank you!! You can have all your fancy AR accessories so you can show off to the locals at your gun range. Just like you buy your huge pickups or SUVs to keep up with the Joneses. Both of my ARs are just as deadly as your fancy and expensive junk. Go ahead and go for it though, it's your life and your money!!

If you're someone who lives in a less-than-friendly-to-the-2A state, or any state with an "assault weapons ban", the front A-post gas block sight provides one hidden issue. They may be configured to accept a Bayonet Lug or Grenade Launcher, which is a no-no in these unfriendly states. Even without using those attachments, just the ability to accept these things is the "Offending Feature"
