I own an Orbea Gain (e-road bike) and I absolutely love it. The Rise is such a compelling option. I was thinking of going with an OCCAM but I absolutely love what an e-bike can offer. My main question with this one especially how does it ride with the electric motor fully off? Do you get any drive train drag, or like your having to fight it?

Did you find find that the cockpit geometry is too far forward for comfortable pedaling which may have contributed to you going over the handle bars? I'm 5'9/ 175.3cm. i have long femurs apparently since every bike I own ends up with the seat all the way back in order to keep from having my knee too far in front of the pedals. My medium Specialized Camber had to have a setback seat post to make it fit. I rode the Levo SL in size large at the shop and it fit perfectly for reach and top tube with the 45mm stem. The seat was all the way back and I could have used 2mm more to the rear but could live with it. The Rise in large has 19mm more forward reach from the crank to the steerer and 9mm shorter top tube. Which means the rear most position of the seat will be 28mm more forward that the SL. This may be a deal breaker for the Rise for me.

I would not recommend doing “the Big Dipper” in the winter as you might drown 👍

Besides covering more ground in less time good to see you do not get that worked on a epic ride. For a first attempt it seems Orbea has found the perfect balance between putting in the effort and pedal assist.

Hi love your videos! How would you say the bike climbs with the Fox 36 vs the 34? I'm about to confirm the details for my purchase and am torn between the fox 34 with lower weight, simpler settings and lockout vs the 36 and extra downhill performance that I most certainly don't need. I'm comming from loving the Orbea Oiz (2200km in 9 months) and having to move on to electric assistance due to a knee injury.

Doesnt look like an ebike, because we all wanna go fast without anybody knowing we have some e-back up. Still, if more people can ride trails and have fun with a little bit of back up its good.

How does Rise pedal when dead? Is it similar to Occum. Occum good climbing trail bike is Rise similar? Thanks for great vids!

Hello Neil and Rich. Can you give me a advise about the size of the bike? I see Neil is riding a size M and Rich a size L. I’m actually not sure which size I should take. I’m 1,76 tall and have a step length of 81cm. Orbea says M or L both are good. I’m riding actually a Canyon Strive CFR 9.0 in Size M. Hope you can give me an advice.

Really great video to showcase this bike. It showed its strengths and weakness in use. Advantages- Lightweight, responsive riding. Looks and feels like a regular bike. Disadvantages - Ran out of battery on long ride, lighter tires prone to punctures.

Cadair Idris is the whole mountain. The peaks you are referring to are Penygadair and Mynydd Moel - not Cadair & Idris. Cool video though :)
