I know it doesn’t need to be said but rockstar shouldn’t be surprised that the player base tries to bug and exploit in game money as much as possible when they make heists this fucking painful and unfun any other game company would be absolutely flamed for being this shameless in how they want to sell you micro transactions yet because it’s dear old rockstar no one gave a fuck and still don’t really give a fuck

Rockstar IS a british company though. They used to be a low level slush fund type thing called Take2 Interactive which would buy up failing game devs who they would then make games starring Hollywood actors who they hoped would sell the games through their stardom. It didn't work very well. When DMA design (the guys who eventually became Rockstar North) made GTA and suddenly became a hot property T2 bought out DMA (well actually bought out another company that had itself bought out DMA). They were able to buy DMA as there was a massive controversy around GTA at the time that DMA couldn't handle and were collapsing. After they bougth them out they then put the DMA designs guys in charge of everything and rebranded themselves as Rockstar Games.

It's actually kind of wierd. Only instance I can think of for a company to buy a smaller company out so that the smaller company can then take them over. Seems to have worked out well though.
