Background music is so irritating. Idiot put that.
ОтветитьSo, basically it is an extension of router ports? So, one only would need a switch if one runs out of open router ports. I just used my old router and connected it to my newer faster router. All of my slower devices such as printer, VOIP phone I connected to my old router. And it worked. No need to buy a switch yet.
ОтветитьThank you......💕💕💕
ОтветитьUse the switch for more routers. From the single main fiber port, which we only have 1 port for fiber.
ОтветитьFollowing because the explanation is right away and not 9 minutes into a video.
Ответитьthe music is too loud.🥵
ОтветитьRight to the point!
ОтветитьWhy not call it a splitter, like everything else that uses this concept?
ОтветитьI just got an Ethernet switch like the one in the video. I'm surprised at how plug n play it is. I didn't have to do anything, it just worked as if my computers were directly connected. I thought I'd have to do some fidgeting with it, but nothing. If I had known I would have done this a long time ago.
As embarrasing as this is to say, I used to transfer data using a HDD. Copy to HDD, then copy from HDD. And Gigabit Ethernet is easily fast enough for this job too.
WiFi file transfers isn't really viable in this day and age. I mean, it might have its use if the computers are on another floor, but honestly, you're probably better off using a HDD to move data in that case.
I've always been of the opinion that if the transfer rate is at the very least 50MB per second, I could deal with that, but 30MBs per second is USB 2 and WiFi for me was less than 20MB per second.
I feel like a dumbass now
ОтветитьCan they be used at the same time?
ОтветитьDidnt really explain much
ОтветитьThis makes so much sense all other ones were so confusing thanks.
ОтветитьCan you set up the switch to the modem, then run two routers from the switch??
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention VLAN tagging and other important information!
ОтветитьSuperBad!!!
Ответить1024 Mega bits man..
ОтветитьGreat explanation, I just bought one today, and the videos I've watched don't explain that you need an "extra" ethernet cable to link your router to the switch. So along with buying the switch, you also need an ethernet cable, which you have to buy separately if you don't have one hanging around the house, and you must connect that ethernet cable to the back of the router and to the main port of the switch, and then add all of your other cables to the switch
ОтветитьThis man is such a cutie pie
ОтветитьA very useful video but why have that silly music playing way too loud? Makes it very hard to hear what your saying.
ОтветитьSwitch name
ОтветитьEverything I needed to know thanks!!
ОтветитьGreat, explanation for rookies. Just what I needed
Ответитьit is also usefull when for example you have an extreme long connection (ex.: 30 meters) built around your house from point A(rooter) to point B(PC), but then you decide to have another computer at point B. (even though you have free sockets in point A)
ОтветитьThat background music has a lot of bass in it. i like it.
ОтветитьHm, not sure this is what I'm needing. I need to be able to connect my laptop via ethernet for internet for working at home. I have wifi but the router and modem are in the living room and the living room doesn't really lend itself to being feng shui'd to fit a desk for working. And most work at home jobs require an enclosed space, and the only spots in the house that fit that are the bedrooms so I need to be able to ethernet connect for internet in my room.
ОтветитьI have a problem with a switch. I have an extender and it has an ethernet port. I used a switch on it and the ethernet connected devices were connected, but the wifi from the extender died. Any ideas why?
ОтветитьCan you connect the modem to the switch and and connect the router to the switch? I basically want to have the modem near the pc with extra ports but move the router closers to the middle of the house. I don’t want to have the router in the middle of the house and still have to get longer ethernet cables for the pc and tv.
ОтветитьDidn't know Jimmy Broadbent is a network expert.
ОтветитьThanks for the simple/direct explanation!
ОтветитьVery helpful! Thank you!
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьThanks section from bo2
Ответитьtutorial videos should not have music!! Please!!

ОтветитьClean and simple, everything else falls into place after

ОтветитьI want to buy a switch but the site says that its compatible with windows 8, 7
I have windows 10
Is it going to work?
My ports are in the wall. How do I set it up. I plugged the ethernet cord into the wall and into the laptop but it still did not work.
ОтветитьDo telephone communications come on the same coaxial wires as the internet? Or they run separately back underground?
ОтветитьCan you split this computer on 4 router?
ОтветитьI have 2 computers in my room the rooter is not in my room but i have one ethernet cable can i connect the 2 computers using one cable and this switch ?
ОтветитьSo i have a female ethernet plug in my room that i run to my pc. I want to run two ethernet cables in my room one for my ps4 and one for my pc. How would i do that with this product? would i run a cable from the wall to the switch and run two more out into my electronics? Pleasseee help im so confused.
Ответитьwhat happened to Mclovin
ОтветитьThanks for explaining so clearly.
ОтветитьCan you hook it up directly to a modem instead of a router.
