I bought Hollow Knight in 2021, played until Fungus Bogs, and dropped it. I picked it back up 3 days ago (26/08/23) and I am questioning why on EARTH I ever dropped it.

I'm surprised you could explain the entire development process with almost no spoilers, with any that do exist being extremely minor, like hornet. Good job

Something I appreciate a lot about Hollow Knight's post release content is that it's naturally introduced to you throughout the game. I only played Hollow Knight the first time after all the content was already out, so it was cool to be able check out most of the "new" stuff while going through.

unrelated to the video, but i hate how people are angry that silksong is delayed. Team Cherry is an indie development group. People who are angry about the delays just do not understand how long game development takes.

It is always impressive how teams of 2 to 3 people can end up producing things with so much more heart and soul than multi-million and billion dollar companies. Creative vision and resonance with the player is absolutely critical to success, and we're finding it from the indie scene more than anywhere else.

Unfortunately I could never get much into this game, but I did get into the Ori games a lot more. I'd love to see you tackle the story of Ori and the Blind Forest.

Very misleading in the middle:

This video makes it seem like you can afford to develop a game, rent office space and pay staff on 50k off of the Kickstarter.

This is insanity!

They probably had outside funding or used the kickstarter money to loan way more.
While still working 16hrs a day and living like in the office too.

Most incredible thing is the speed, they showed that speed in prototyping ideas quickly easily trumps long design documents that try to over-engineer concepts on paper before even trying them out in the engine
