HELP! I really like the looks of that last border that you put up in this video. However I am having trouble following the directions. It would help if you said how many stitches that I should have on the needle each time before I turn to start the next row. I may have to abandon this particular beginning of the shawl and do something simpler. I am not a beginning knitter but oh well. Maybe I can try again in the morning! Thx for all you do🙂
ОтветитьI so enjoy your tutorials. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. You talk at a very good speed for teaching and assisted me in taking my knitting to the next level of enjoyment.
ОтветитьI loved this video. So much information and ideas. Thanks again. 😊😊😊
ОтветитьThis is a fantastic video. Thank you so much for explaining all of these so clearly. I've been looking for a pattern I can use to create a triangular shawl with stripes in certain colors and now I don't need one, I can do it myself because you've given me the foundational information I need. And I'll definite be picking up your lace shawl pattern, too. Thank you!
ОтветитьYou explained everything so beautifully! Thank you for the wonderful video! I understand now! ❤
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьoh my! I have looked at SO many knitting videos, and yours is the first I feel I could actually follow and do. Your video shots are so very clear and closeup, and I can really see how you move the yarn and needle. I want to learn continental stitch, not that 'toss around', because it seems so much more ergonomic and less wasteful of movement. I saw on your blog you have a free knitting course, so I am off to begin there! I am hoping next year will be better for $, after both hubby and I retiring as teachers, and moving house 600 miles away. I will definitely look into joining your Patreon then, because supporting designers is very important! Thank you for all you do <3
ОтветитьThis is such a fantastic, comprehensive tutorial! Thank you so much 😊
ОтветитьThank you so much!!!
You are a great teacher!!!
Please let me now how to knit the point on the finishing side. I know that I have to decreased stitches to end with 3 stitches but how I do it?
I’ll appreciate your response.🧶
Norman….
As if the many tutorials weren’t amazing, you also give us EXTRA information!!!!!
You’re exceptional ❤️
I’ve just finished spinning some special blended fleece and I’m going to knit one of these designs.
Thank you!!!!!
What yarn did you use for the black shawl?? All of the designs are beautiful
ОтветитьThank you, this is an excellent well presented highly informative, demystifying video.
ОтветитьI love it!🥰
ОтветитьDear Norman of NimbleNeedles. You have taught me SO much. I want to thank you. Please keep sharing!
ОтветитьI have not done a shawl pattern ever and have been knitting for more then 10yrs and needed some simple explanations on construction and this is the video that I needed to get to the nitty gritty. Thank you so much. much love.
ОтветитьBeautiful 👍
ОтветитьThanks for so many ideas presented together to really give one ways to compare outcomes - and great instructions too - so clear.
ОтветитьThis is AMAZING, Norman! I was going to find a free ravelry pattern for my first shawl, but this video gave me all the tools to improvise one myself! Thank you so much.
ОтветитьThank you, Norman!
ОтветитьThank you! Very clear instructions🥰
ОтветитьWhat about when you run out of space on your needle but you’re not done with your shawl yet??
ОтветитьThank you so much for making this tutorial. The second method is one that I was stuck on in a pattern that I had purchased. I couldn't get it right no matter what I tried. Thanks to you, I'm able to move forward with my current project.
ОтветитьThank you Norman; what a great video on construction of various shawls! Following your instructions, I have just cast on my first five-point shawl!
ОтветитьI am slow and really want to try these shawls, so I need to get written directions. Thanks
ОтветитьThis is the 1st time I've seen your videos. Love it
ОтветитьMuchas gracias Norman, me pareció muy interesante todo y aprendí un montón.
ОтветитьYou are good at crochet. Love your videos.
ОтветитьReally like the structure of the Faroese Shawl. I can pretty much do a free style design in the middle!
ОтветитьThank you for the wonderful shawl patterns and selvage tutorial. I want to make the 5 point shawl first!
ОтветитьCan you knit the shawl with circular knitting needles?
ОтветитьWhat size needle
ОтветитьI some video (can't remember witch video it was! I dont think it was in this video) Norman mentioned how he knit the black and white stripes shawl with different sizes of knits, and just did it with... I cant remember what kind of stitch it was🥴🤔. I want to find the pattern, or if its not a free pattern, I just want to know the video he mentioned the shawl so I can figure it out by my self as much as possible.
I would be so thankful if someone can help me. 🙏 Thanks. ❤️
First time seeing the channel. You do lovely work.
Ответитьcould you please give the ISBN number for the book? great video , thank you ! Happy New Year 2023 !!!
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThis is a lot of information for one video, honestly I watched it 3 times before I fully absorbed it all 🙈 I am having some trouble imagining the full piece. Specifically, the wing shawl. I grasp the concept, but visualizing the whole shawl eludes me. I'm wondering if you have an example of a finished one?! Or if you could drop a link in the reply for me to see. I Googled it but couldn't find what I needed.
Once again I LOVE your explanations and macro camera viewpoints. Plus your voice is very soothing to listen to☺️
Thanks Norman!
Hi Norman. Binge-watching your vids, playing catch up...getting the knitting bug again. Love your tutorials, absolutely fantastic and easy to follow. 💕I want to learn Continental knitting. Looks much easier on the hands. Thanks for all you do.
Ответитьwhat size needles & yarn weight?
ОтветитьThank you for the very useful video! I wonder if some shawl shapes are more suitable for a specific yarn weight. For example, I have a yarn that you should work with 4.5/5 mm needles, maybe it would look better on a triangle shawl rather than a crescent shaped one? Or even better, just a plain rectangular shawl? Do you have any tips or opinions on this?
ОтветитьI have literally just discovered your channel, I love listening to you talking, you explain so well and you are so relaxing! Thank you for sharing your experience!
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your extensive knowledge with us...knitting shawls with so many options, makes me really happy...🤗🥰😘♥️
Ответитьamazing teacher
thank you from my heart
I've just discovered your channel and subscribed. I now have fallen down the rabbit hole and begun binge watching all of your episodes!
ОтветитьHi Norman, I noticed that you use this kind of yarn in many if not most of your videos, especially yarns in colour blue, mustard and green (or is it teal?) and I like them very much. Where are they from?
ОтветитьThis is the video that convinced me to join as a Patreon. I have been watching your videos sporadically for a few months but didn't feel I should join as a patron. I really liked this video and want to learn more about knitting beautiful items..
ОтветитьYou are a jenius
Thanks so much
You are such a good teacher. I have been struggling with garter tab cast ons for 2 years, and you just fixed every issue I ever had with them in about 10 minutes. I cannot believe no one ever told me I could just use a crochet hook and my active yarn to just pull up the stitches I needed! And I've been picking up stitches along the side of the tab completely incorrectly, too. You make it all so clear, thank you so much for making these videos.
