"Jim Rockford, Private Investigator"..this was during the time when syndicated versions of network shows had to have different titles.

Good Lord I used to watch Abbott and Costello every Sunday on wpix. Never missed it.

If they went back to this it would probably quadruple their audience.

My brother and I would always hope the Abbott and Costello movie was "Hold That Ghost". Anyone remember the wide TV guide from the Sunday Newsday? It was so exciting seeing a great movie that week. It was such simpler times. We would either go out to visit family or hang out leisurely at home. My father would be watering the lawn or washing the car. I'd go for a bike ride after watching TV. My mother would be cooking sauce for dinner that night and you'd sneak a little on a slice of Italian bread - mmmm - just the aroma!

This truly brings tears to my eyes 😭

The morning movie was always an Abbot and Costello.

I spent many a Sunday morning watching The Three Stooges and Abbott and Costello movies on (W)PIX.

Wow so nostalgic. Brings back memories of me and my family

Everything, the music, the visual, just makes me feel good. It brings me right back to that time in the early 70’s, the sights. the sounds, the smells... it all comes back.
I would give almost anything to be able to live out my days in the late 60’s , early 70’s when one of the coolest things on tv was seeing that “In Color” tag at the beginning of a show.

The Sunday Afternoon Movie theme is my absolute favorite. It gives me goosebumps and takes my breath away at the flood of memories that come rushing back to me when I hear it. I was 12 in the fall of 1979. Loved WPIX.

Memories buried so deep, but they came back so quick. Took me right back to that place; thank you so much for this.
