A Great 🎥,Thanks 😀👋
ОтветитьMarshall kicks up a storm here, oye vey
ОтветитьProfessor Kingfish produces this trash
ОтветитьI enjoyed this movie and thanks for bringing to us another b/w classic movie.
ОтветитьWow! What an amazing perspective on Germany and Belgium in World War One, thanks!
ОтветитьHerbert Marshall fan but again this movie was dopey from start to finish.
ОтветитьJoel McCrea fan but one lousy movie. Gail Russell could never act tho quite pretty...you need more. I rate this as a C- and a waste of my time. Besides I had seen it before but couldn't remember the end. Never again lol
ОтветитьVery good!
ОтветитьI saw this when I was little (I wasn't supposed to watch divorce or horror shows, but I saw this somehow), and it scared the daylights out of me...still, and I'm almost 70. This is a masterpiece - I thought it was a Hitchcock film until I learned to read. Masterful in everything: setting, storyline, cast, music - and really creepy in atmosphere. I never thought about having another half of my house empty (as a subject for a suspense movie - except for the attic and other apartments in the same building). 😱 I know I would be hearing things over there all the time - it's genius for a spooky setting - I can't think of another scary movie that used an empty other part of the house. Gail Russell is perfect, she reminds me of a baby Ann Sheridan. Thank you so much, this is the best.
ОтветитьGreat movie.
ОтветитьDid anyone notice how the little boy is neglected while the little girl is given attention, never dismissed or scolded and taught cultural things like playing the piano. I know it's just a movie, but it seems to reflect most biased cultural norms when it comes to raising boys vs girls.
ОтветитьI believe someone missed a few knots when they were tying this story together.
ОтветитьThirty four minutes in to this. It's terrifying.
ОтветитьThose kids remind me of The Innocents with Deborah Kerr. Creepy kids are terrifying. Ahhhhhh....!
ОтветитьWhat a great movie! I love Joel McRae great actor
ОтветитьBetween two worlds.
ОтветитьLshe gave a signal.
ОтветитьDon't call the police. Call ne, the doc.
ОтветитьFrom lady in the lake
ОтветитьThe actress, Nona Griffith, who played the little girl Ellen in the film was very charming. However, I was disappointed to see she only acted in one other film in her career. Herbert Marshall had one of the great voices in film. Joel McCrae was alway great in films and Gail Russell was great in The Uninvited.
ОтветитьJane Eyre meets The Turn of the Screw
ОтветитьI love this films, even if they are edulcurated are still a step in the past.
ОтветитьThat crap music was not necessary, but THEY had to help each other.
ОтветитьHow many have turned themselves into science projects trying to have lips like Gail?
ОтветитьI loved the cast. kids and all the various characters. It had super costumes and high touch set pieces. a good who done it. McRae could eat characters in my bed
ОтветитьWatched.
ОтветитьRaymond Chandler?? The script is ridiculous.
ОтветитьSi el idioma es ingles en la peli que caso tiene poner subtitulos en ingles. No lo comprendo.
ОтветитьWere I entrusted with the care of two small children, one of whom was badly behaved, I wouldn't sit in a darkened movie theater with the badly-behaved one where I couldn't see him.
That lack of caution is nothing, however, compared to the poor parenting provided by the father of that boy.
There had to have been years of neglect to produce such a brat.
Suboptimal trash
ОтветитьNo need for gore , But creepy creepy marvelous. Wish they would make films as well as this currently. Marvel and Horror nothing worth going to the theater for.
ОтветитьNever heard of this oone.
ОтветитьShe never asks who the visitor is.
ОтветитьI was born in 1950 and I have studied and researched the 40s and 50s just for fun. Movies from this era seem so glamorous to me. I love movies from this era, and I always check out the hairstyles for some reason. I think modern women should bring back 40s hairstyles. I also like the Betty Page 50s look.
ОтветитьThat was Raymond Chandler?
ОтветитьHe would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids. Seriously though I quite enjoyed this but does it count as a film Noir(In my opinion no)will leave that open to discussion, thanks for posting.
ОтветитьPretty good movie. I'd love to see another movie that Gail Russell was in: The Uninvited, with Ray Milland. One of my all time favorites.
ОтветитьI must say, I am surprised by all the glowing reviews for this one.
ОтветитьIt seemed as though Gail Russell was sleep walking through this movie.Three people are murdered right outside the house and she looks like she just woke up.I was waiting for her to yawn.Pretty bad acting. The story wasn't bad but acting was sub-par.JMO🤷♀️
ОтветитьIs Criswell narrating the opening set-up?
ОтветитьThe last scene where they kiss had me in tears.
ОтветитьHard to notice Herbert Marshall's prosthetic leg . He lost one during WW1 fighting in France with the British Army.
ОтветитьMy Lord! Gail Russell was beautiful.
ОтветитьGreat story , right until the end , and those eyes of Gail Russel ,without her alcohol addiction I’m sure she would have gone on to be a much bigger star ,
ОтветитьI'd never heard of this film (though I'd loved the earlier THE UNINVITED w/ Gail Russell) and I'm so glad it popped up as a recommendation. This and the earlier film were both good vehicles for the delightful Miss Russell and each well done.
ОтветитьThis movie is the worst piece of shit ever. Every one of the characters...especially the children...are detestable and so is the production. Gawd awful. It reeks of crap. All the actors are repulsive...especially Joel McCrae and the so-called lead actress, if you can call her that. The plot is fucking terrible and never makes sense. I've never seen anything so bad. Even the soundtrack by Ernest Toch is worse than the movie. I hate to day I actually watched it all the way, hoping it might get better. I was so wrong. Other than that, you may enjoy it...if you really enjoy dreadful movies.
ОтветитьThe little girl is adorable
ОтветитьMy first time seeing this movie. Saw some movie from Betty David I forgot what the name was. She was a Governer and the little boy hated her.
ОтветитьProduced by John Houseman? THE John Houseman?
