ОтветитьI went 60 days without sugar, but fell off the horse a week ago. I wasn't particularly overweight, but I'm trying to shed middle age fat. I'm 6'7" and was 238 lbs, but now down to 220. I put 3lbs back on after eating like crap the past mentioned week (vacation). I'm pretty sure the sugar caused me to retain water and puff up a bit but starting today I'm back off the sugar. These videos and comments motivate me.

ОтветитьI've avoided sugar for 10 years and I no longer enjoy the taste of sugar unless it's very small amounts. When there is dessert and someone says "the ___ has very little sugar" and I try, it's almost always too sweet and it's almost like I have an allergic reaction to the sugar and feel nausea

ОтветитьI was told I needed to remove my thyroid. I refused. Decided to go off of sugar for three months. I did. When I went back to the doctor three months later he told me “your thyroid is completely normal, I wouldn’t even medicate you”. Wahooo!!! Sugar is an endocrine disruptor it messes with your hormones. Hormones are everything!!

With two 30min gym session per week.
I lost 5kg in two weeks.
My fat belly obviously gotten smaller.
Im struggling to find foods and the first 2 weeks were hell. I was sluggish, cranky, irritable, I had no energy to do anything! Headaches, cravings like crazy. It has been 2 months, I’m re-introduce carbs again but I’m very low quantities, like 100% cacao chocolate. I don’t think I will drink sodas or have ice creams that I don’t make myself. I just believe industries just put crazy amount of sugar for the things they sell taste good. Now I know things can taste good with little or no sugar I can make them home. Because they cravings for cake didn’t stop. Now I can satisfy the cravings with very little sugar.

ОтветитьI'm 6 months into no added sugars and I'll say this, the benefits are real, I've lost over 60 pounds with more exercise and less sugar.
In the beginning, it was really hard, I'd be craving sugar a lot, but I did a series of 24 hour water fasts and my body's hormones stabilized after the second fast to where I was no longer craving any sugar.
Going to the super market and seeing really good looking donuts and cookies still makes me sad and wishing I could have some, but once my eyes are off it, I'm over it. It's a self control thing.
Since then, I've had more energy, felt happier and better, and it's been overall good. Seriously, added sugar is poison. If you have a sweet tooth craving, eat some fruit. Fruits with a low glycemic index and a low glycemic load. Anything less than 55 for GI and less than 10 for GL
I just mix Raw organic wild honey (expensive) with erythritol sweetened dark chocolate chips and salted peanuts together in a blender. Super healthy reese cup like treats that do not cause sugar cravings.

ОтветитьI did 30 days no sugar challenge. I saw videos in which ppl said you'll feel more energized, but they didn't tell about the sugar withdrawal symptoms. I felt exhausted, cravings were on another level and the urge to pee, ( I'm a person who forgets to drink water) so I was shocked and researched it and found out it does happen when you cut down sugar.
ОтветитьNo mate, when you say you quit sugar, that must include fruits and jams etc, and no bread or pasta as that turns straight into sugar in your bloodstream. Otherwise, there is no point.
ОтветитьMy go to snacks are unsalted, roasted almonds, bananas and apples and strawberries. When I cut added sugar, I lost weight and had more steady energy.
ОтветитьI was amazed how having no proccessed sugar for one month (still going) changed me. I used to eat a lot snacks with sugar content in it. I started not eating sugar at all from last month. To be honest, It was hard, knowing that you can't have a cookie or a coffee while looking at them was hard but i started eating more natural food rather than processed food. Feeling much better now. It's only been one month now but i feel a big change mentally and physically.
