You are the best teacher. Thank you
Ответить🎨⭐👨🎨👏
ОтветитьExcellent content...thanks for posting!
ОтветитьI tried the arbitrary color exercise when you talked about it in a previous video and it was a huge step up for me. Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I highly recommend that exercise!
ОтветитьThank you, got back into painting/drawing and your videos helped me a lot to improve.
ОтветитьThanks for another amazing video!
ОтветитьPaint coach. Yesterday I did the best portrait I've ever done in preparation I did my own self-portrait to get practice on my method before I worked on a commission . .... I can't tell you how helpful your videos have been to my career!!!!
ОтветитьHey Chris, could you also cover up areas and match one value after the next to free yourself from values influencing each other and falling victim to subtle optical illusions?
ОтветитьI like the way you word things where I can comfortably follow along and understand. I think most of my trouble comes from jumping into the little things too fast. Especially on clothing. I always want to precisely make little tiny details in fabric and lace patterns and I get stuck and frustrated.
ОтветитьPOR FAVOR SUBTITULA EN ESPAÑOL, GRACIAS.
BRAVO 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You should do a video using the Zorn palette to help with value studies. It's amazing how so much can be done with so little.
ОтветитьI drew a portrait the other day after a long spell away from drawing. I realise how easy it is to slide into old 'frequent mistakes'. My main mistake being not ensuring the facial features are mapped out properly. I tend to put one eye and eyebrow in the wrong place and the face ends up looking slightly twisted. More practice while reciting 'I will map features correctly' like a mantra! 😁
ОтветитьI love the arbitrary color exercise...I will try that! Cool!😎🤓🥸😎🤩
ОтветитьThe VALUE of your videos is beyond color! 🥰
ОтветитьOk! OK! I'm going 😅 As always - Inspirational. TY 👋
ОтветитьValue do the job and color. Takes the credit
ОтветитьCouldn't agree more, great video
ОтветитьI think Chris found a mine full of gold because he just keeps giving it out
ОтветитьReally really helpful; portraits are so hard to get right, especially in colour - thank you!
ОтветитьCohesivity is all he talked about
ОтветитьSo helpful! Thanks!
ОтветитьYou're right. I have the same problems. I'm an amateur, but I've made a lot of progress. Thanks for video
Ответитьincredible, as usual
ОтветитьThe best paint coach on the Web! Thank you Chris 👍👍👍
ОтветитьReally good advice, was going to subscribe but realised I already am whoops! The best thing my high school art teacher taught me was don't be afraid to go darker (i.e. leaving stuff on the table).
ОтветитьDo you ever draw from imagination?
ОтветитьGuilty! I am one of those who tends to get my brights too bright (white)....it's a struggle for sure. Love the tips of painting a black and white, and also the arbitrary color one. Will have to try both of those. Do you have any tips for painting a color portrait from a black and white photo? That would be really helpful too!! Thanks so much Chris!
ОтветитьThank you for the info. What do you mean by pushing and pulling? Ive heard it a lot but i dont understand. In my experience (still learning) i cant really put many layers on and especially not dark on light
ОтветитьThanks Chris, you hit the nail on the head
😲👍
Not bad yull get better more realistic practice is good.
ОтветитьYou have just clarified why i thought kids are harder to paint than adults
ОтветитьGreat tips! Here's a tip for you. There is no X in the word especially.
ОтветитьI despise Google and their arrogance.
ОтветитьHi I got a question I have a big problem with transparency of glass in oil painting please make a tutorial on this please.
Ответитьi love this channel. your instruction and analysis are top shelf!
ОтветитьVery good content man
ОтветитьThis is just awesome ❤️
ОтветитьHi love your channel mate , sorry to squeeze more info out of you but with the mono portrait should I go through and paint strictly dark to light? Thanks in advance. Ps I’m fairly new to painting in case this is common knowledge 👍🏻
Ответитьi usually use the posterize on photoshop for value painting
ОтветитьImagine entering an AA meeting and revealing you have a 'value problem' LOL. You're definitely right though, the hardest part to get right and to show the real form of a likeness, is definitely in the values. I have a tendency of creating a contrast that's too strong, resulting in an older looking version of who I am painting. So, definitely need to triple check values a lot.
ОтветитьThanks for your advice Chris! I was wondering if you could do a horse painting in your patreon? I would love that.
ОтветитьI love this monochromatic grandma painting so very much! Is she for sale?
ОтветитьCan you show how to paint in black and white while looking at something in color?
ОтветитьI often return to your videos when I am feeling stuck on a piece. Thank you for your insight, and your generosity with your knowledge
ОтветитьThis is helpful. Your explanation and tiny points like squint ur eyes to see the main values ❤ helped alot an im not a spring chicken 😂 🙌🏼 thanks
ОтветитьWhere do you find your reference material? Love the video ❤🎉
ОтветитьI would love to see some acrylic paintings
ОтветитьSquinting at your picture was a huge pointer for me!!
I never thought about it, just more focused on getting it right instead of the getting that soft blend first
Great video!
