Hey GoPro you could do the same thing for next camera as Sony did put usb in the open and cut the power to it when not in use that way it won't get water damage and can be submerged

Why not for the Hero 8?

I’ve bought this and I’m shocked that it cost me £13.99 +£5p&p. It’s cheep and flimsy plastic not worth the cash. As far as I’m concerned there are better 3rd party manufacturers making an alternative with better quality materials. They may not be a splash resistant but at least I’m confident that they will outlast this poorly manufacture con. This door rocks on the hing and I’m confident that the plastic hinge will not last more than two or three months in removing and replacing. It’s flimsy and cheep plastic. All in all I’m disappointed Gopro for manufacturing this poor quality addition to a good camera.

For every other thing you have an accessory. Which will cost bomb to existing customers. GoPro is the biggest scammers in the camera world.

Is there one for the Hero 8?

if you put 1 inch sensor i get it. and dont get hot during 2k or 4k record. that is what i was missing in my black hero 7. wich now is on the atalntic ocean. Is in ocean because broke from my surf table and i dont want to buy another one with the problem of get hot and cant record.
Please make aluminium case for better disipation and some rubber on the corners.

Why is this not available for the Hero 8?

I ruined 2 batteries in my 7 Black due to leaving them in while using external power. Both of them got too hot and swelled up around the upper/lower edges of the battery. I don't have a 10 but, I would try it without the battery installed.

Do you need to remove the battery or does plugging in the cable override the battery usage?

The original cable from Gopro is too short. I need one that is at least 2-3 meters. But I don't know exactly whether it will work with the web cam transmission.

Why isn’t this compatible with the hero 8?

On the GoPro community page it is mentioned that the Hero 9-12 can be operated without the battery on cable. But my Hero 12 immediately shuts down after starting it without battery. It only works when I start up with battery and while running I remove the battery...
