Guarantee ya, a P-47 firing its 8 .50 cals sounds a LOT more like an A-10 than these sound effects. I his book Thunderbolt, Johnson called a loud, constant CHRAAASH ING sound.
ОтветитьTo me the best fighter plane of the war depends on the mission it's used for? A Spitfire was great in the short-range interception mission but the P-51 was better as a long-range bomber escort.
ОтветитьGreat ending to this story, however all for nothing young men dead and for what WAR! The stupidest concept man has ever tried, no matter where it is yet it continue WAR 😢
ОтветитьLet us be thankful for the incompetence of the fascists.
Ответить“Gee ain’t that pretty” he says as he’s getting shot at in a middle of a dogfight
ОтветитьBest episode but it's right there with George Preddy. I don't like to hear it either. The boys kicked ass!!!
ОтветитьYou don't Win Wars dying for your Country. Thanks to those that guard.
ОтветитьMy Dads cousin was a naval aviator in WW2 in the Pacific theater. Such guys were cream of the crop. My Dads cousin ended up being a huge deal with Honeywell after the war and ended up owning his own island somewhere in the Caribbean. Responsibility, duty, achievement came easy to such men.
ОтветитьMake this into a live action movie. This episode is awesome!!
ОтветитьThis was very well produced, and the CGA are outstanding, in my opinion, anyway. The whole story is inspiring and touching, especially with a couple of the pilots still living and contributing. Thanks.
ОтветитьThe bluewaffle were good but they werent that good
ОтветитьWhy are the engines smoking on the runway?
ОтветитьI always wonder in a 'fur ball' battle, don't planes collide with one another?..Surely it has to happen here and there with that many planes engaging all over the place?....And what are the size of the 'fur ball' radius in miles?...Is it like a 20 miles radius of dog fighting?..
ОтветитьIf ever a time of cartoonish good vs evil was a thing amongst the greys of this world. It was wwii. And the hero’s that came from both sides. Massive death ballet’s in the skies as aircraft became ever more advanced . Centurions of the sea and ground. As massive navies seen never before or since duked out on the high seas. And technology shot forth in all fields at unprecedented speeds. Battle tactics. Strategies. And some of the greatest improvisation to ever be seen. Men and women of all nations who put their lives on the line to make a difference. Will never be forgotten
ОтветитьWow,200+ of their force was shot down before they even attacked the Allie’s
ОтветитьOne can obviously see that at this point the corporal only had teenage kids with two weeks of flying lessons behind them, it was sad but the horrible duty had to be done.
ОтветитьMy dad flew P-51s with the 357th FG out of Leicester. This was a really good video with great animation.
Ответить🤯🇺🇸💪
ОтветитьJust recall most German pilots were novice and no experience at all most German ace pilots were gone by then.
Ответить"Donzen't that look pretty? "
😮 dude, your getting shot at.... most gangster I've ever seen
God Bless Bob Brulle
Ответитьwonder who was flying that 109 at the end. he did 'werner voss' shit against the mustangs
ОтветитьHow old was bob when he flown this mission
ОтветитьThey love to pretend they are such warriors when they ALWAYS got numerical and technological advantage over everyone else. If it wasn't always this way they wouldn't have such a rosie look about everything especially what they did to Native Americans, there wasnt 1 white man on this continent.
ОтветитьOh, man. A battle so close to the Great Pyramids of Belgium?! We're lucky we didn't lose any cultural artifacts or heritage. Can you imagine what a disaster one of those planes crashing into such a revered landmark would have been?! I'm not too clear on my European history, but I think those Pyramids were the tombs of ancient Chocolatiers and Waffle Makers.
ОтветитьMy dad and his twin brother were at Y-29 that day, crew chiefs on P-47's, show failed to mention the plane Paisley shot down when he salvoed his rockets. Dad mentioned he would hide on one side of an old brick chimney then the other as the German planes made their strafing runs. Have some old pictures of the field that show the slag heaps.
ОтветитьThe air plane battle of the bulge during ww2.
ОтветитьMy Father, Pvt. Howard L. Cummings was a Quad 50 Caliber Anti Aircraft Gunner (of the 784 AAA BN attached to the 366 Fighter Group from Normandy to Munster, Germany at wars end.) He was on Y-29 on the morning of the attack. His ground gun was next to the make-shift Control Tower and he had a "front row seat" to the actions on this video. Dad would tell us about the attack as we set around the supper table. He and his gun buddies retrieved parts of a downed ME-109 that crashed east of the field that we still have today. in the late 90's I was able to visit what is left of Y-29 and I was able to meet some of the 352nd Pilots and ground crews at 4 reunions of the 352nd. My Pride runs deep for The GREATEST GENERATION for saving the world during those darkest of days of mankind. May GOD BLESS the memory of the GREATEST GENERATION and our United States and Allied Forces that stand with her today for continued freedom in our present generation!
ОтветитьI wonder why the 9th Air Force kept getting denied permission to take off even though there was clearly enemy fighters around the entire area
ОтветитьIts funny how always in american representation of WW2 shows the germans or japanese fighters so dumb, show it so easy despite in real life the german fighters were tremendous planes and their pilots really experienced
ОтветитьTemu collects your information
ОтветитьThe US Air Force’s own “battle of Samar” in terms of legend!
Ответитьmy mind is full of aircraft
ОтветитьI miss this series. It was a favorite of mine. I so wish that the History Channel had made a few more episodes with them covering how Soviet n German pilots Dogfight-ed in WWII. It would've been awesome to watch. Awesome video.
ОтветитьThis is that turkey shoot
ОтветитьI didn't know luftwaffe was the Americans
ОтветитьA great moment in history and a story that needs to be told too bad the narration has such over the top hyperbole and melodramatic voiceover.
ОтветитьYoung Brian Hall Robert Harris Laura
ОтветитьI wonder who thought it was a good idea to put pyramids in a Flemish landscape: I live near this area and can guarantee you that the landscape is flat and definitely has no ridiculous pyramids anywhere.
ОтветитьWhat happened to the P 47 pilot whose plane was on fire? I missed what happened to him .
ОтветитьHoly crumb. I’m sitting here looking for this video to watch again and searching it and searching it wrong and clicked on to by accident. My favorite one
ОтветитьThis is when the USAF WAS BORN
ОтветитьChi documentaries suck the middle of butt
ОтветитьA couple of points, between the German losses on the eastern front, and the losses on the western front due to the American new aircraft, plus all the other shortages the German pilots were young and very limited training wnd not many hours of flying time, how ever some veterans were with them in the attack.
