Hahahaaa. When I heard garen no yumiya, I knew u were gonna have a blast
ОтветитьWell now I'll never be able to NOT hear this when watching anime.
ОтветитьHas Charles ever reviewed the Evangelion opening? Because I am almost positive I remember it but I have not found it...
ОтветитьDid I just get rick rolled?
ОтветитьI can barely play guitar, but I started to get involved in musical theory in a music workshop we had in the university and I react the same way when I hear something cool because I start to think of all this, and it's funny because I now can't hear anything in any other way. I now wonder if people who has no idea of music theory can enjoy this shit as much as us nerds do xD
ОтветитьBro really deconstructed Porno Graffiti just by listening once
ОтветитьYou love pianos so you should do your lie in April
ОтветитьOnly GOOD animes, break this rule
ОтветитьAaand the podcast is dead (who coulda predicted!?)
ОтветитьCan't believe you haven't analyzed Unravel by TK yet.
Ответитьif yall want to learn about anime and j pop music in more detail I recommend the videos by the channel Gavin Leeper
ОтветитьAsian music or jpop always using the magic royal road progression, this why jpop music never boring to hear, look at the west music right now always using the same chord many time and so boring.
Ответитьi nkow this might be a weird one but ther'es a song i learnt yrs ago (and then forgot, and then remembered) sung by Ninomiya Kazunari, it's called Sore wa Yappari Kimi Deshita , and i wanted to write the notes down but confused over the key..it's like it's in G major, but wants to show off constantly in C major, but then it's in D... something? And the chords have this tendency of travelling down semitone by semitone in some spots, and i think it has 4-5-6 but backwards, as 6-5-4 in some spots... i never really stopped to think about it until i tried to write it down that the chords seem to be kinda more interesting the more i look at them? maybe i'm just a noob and it's simpler than i think lol
but im curious what ur thoughts might be on that one.
Also Yonezu Kenshi's "Kite" (Kaitou, but it's sung by Arashi), because the chords i thought it has were.. different. i just remember trying to play by ear and ending up with the wrong set of chords lol
one piece opening 1 We are is so fire
ОтветитьI can’t believe how underrated this channel is, and how I discovered this only recently. I myself have learned pieces on the piano, and coupled with my love for Japanese culture, I’d like to learn some musical pieces from anime some day.
ОтветитьTechnically you could say that about any song... All music uses different variations of rythems and cord progression based off of major and minor scales or a mixture of the two
Ответитьdid anyone else lose their mind when he stopped one piece before the awesome piano stuff?
ОтветитьYour anime breakdowns helped me appreciate the music of anime more. Really sophiscated stuff.
ОтветитьHow does "Biaaaaaaaa bi beba be bei ri babe bi beiroba bebi bo" fit into this?
ОтветитьI think different genres of animes have their own styles
Ответитьisn't that the Time After Time progression?
Ответитьso funny i made it here months after watching the linked "anime chord progression" and realizing i have the knowledge to watch further xDDDD
ОтветитьThis chord progression in vastly spread across all music genres, from lady gaga to iron maiden, and from modern classic to anime
ОтветитьWhat about 90's anime music?
ОтветитьOne of the more receni popular chord progression in Japanese music is the
IVmaj7-III7-vim7-I7 progression. They seem to either call it "just the two of us 進行(progression)" because a similar progression was used in the song "just the two of us" or they may call it "marusa progression(丸さ進行)" used in "Marunoichi Sadistic" by Shiina Ringo. Nowadays it's a lot by groups like Yoasobi, Yorushika and Zutomayo. You are quite likely to find this chord progression in recent Japanese songs.
Damn anime be rick rolling us all this time
Ответитьi dont know what you're talking about, but i enjoy your vids haha
ОтветитьI don't know a lot about music, but I can tell I like a certain "sound" when it comes to songs. Now I know that it's called BIRD BLUES and the common "sound" I've been hearing in those songs is called a chord progression. This was educational. THANK YOU.
ОтветитьI don't know a lot of technical stuff about music, but I appreciate your channel because I find it educational AND entertaining. Very insightful. You inspired me to start studying music albeit gradually
Also, I realized I haven't listened to these songs for quite a long time, and hearing them again just feels so nostalgic and amazing
Wow.....the Naruto op song sounds just like KPop artist G Dragon's song She's Gone, that's one incredible song by him
ОтветитьHey man, please analyze the OST of one piece (not the opening, but the jazzy songs that sounds in the show), I think they are pretty interesting tunes.
ОтветитьI’m abt to watch love is hard for otaku just bc of that op. It’s so cool to hear the stuff I’m learning in jazz used in a different way. I found myself rewinding unnecessarily so much bc in the next second you’d also do it 😂
ОтветитьNow make your own anime opening
ОтветитьTheir music writers are usually classically trained and use good tonal harmony in their writing process?
Ответитьanime is not a genre it is a medium
Ответитьam I the only one who thinks anime openings are not the same as anime music?
ОтветитьIt was a little frustrating watching you analyze the intro, while the thesis was the body of the song. Still entertaining, but anime intros typically are structured differently from the main theme.
Ответитьyou should really check out the music from:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Ghost in the shell
- Mushishi
- Death Note
- Metropolis anime movie
Please analyze Street Fighters character themes!
ОтветитьI’m self-taught on the guitar and bass and when I went through a huge anime phase in my teens (in fairness it never ended) i tried to teach myself a a bunch of anime songs and thought I’d been messing up because the chord progressions all started sounding too similar 😂 Figured i was either going out of my mind or was just plain wrong.
ОтветитьDamn I thought we were talking about original soundtracks, background music.
ОтветитьPlease go over more One Piece + anime music! You will never be disappointed
ОтветитьB flat sus chord haha
ОтветитьCan you do sword art online and/or fairy tail?
Ответить
