His songs may have been sexual, even early at this point in his career. However, look how embarrassed, shy, and soft-spoken he is. He was not a “singer.” Rather he was an all-encompassing MUSICIAN and ARTIST.

Lifelong fan. I was 3 years old when this “concert” on ABS happened. Saw him 4 times. Last time, me and my daughter were headed downtown Chicago and the venue was advertising some Disney boy band. I called Ticketmaster and that concert was sold out. But the CSR said she has 2 tickets for Prince, the next day, Row 6, for something just above $80 each. I took my 8 yo daughter, + / - a year. No regrets and this was when he cleaned up his act for the most part. The “worst” song was “Cream” and my daughter thought it was about ice cream. Of course, the last song was “Purple Rain.” He played that for over 30 minutes. I still have one white glove and the purple streamers that fell during “Purple Rain.” This man was a genius and I literally cried when he passed away — same with Whitney Houston. Both were the best in what they did. Again, thank you for posting.
