I sort of remember this, but mostly I remember the far superior sequel Oregon Trail 2

I was in kindergarten when I played this on a computer at school, had to be 1994. I never made it to the end. I never even understood it. Lol but the nostalgia is still there.

I only JUST found my old CD-ROM of this from the mid-90s, and played it again on a Windows 3.1 virtual machine a couple weeks ago. For probably the first time since 1999.

It was always fun playing this game in school!- Especially living in Oregon. Made it that much cooler. I still get excited when I talk about it 😁.

man i played this game on the OLD computers with the big floppy disks and i was the first in my class to get my group to and back, god the nostalgia and memories of classic games <3

I played this game and the RMG hates me! I always have to stop and rest because my characters love frolicking with snakes and playing their favorite games of Lets See How Many Bones I Can Break Before I Die or Diseases: Gotta Catch Them All!

That looks like a hard game, that version I wanna try it out. I like this survival game bc it really requires the player to actually think on what they’ll do and how they’ll treat the characters. RNG aside I think the game awards you for making good choices and it’s punishing for making the smallest mistake, like I don’t know- losing all your oxen at the first river…

The played the 1.2 version on in school in the late 90s

Still have my copy of this for CD-ROM. Also still have my '97 Compaq to run it on (got a few games that don't run on anything newer so I held onto it--mostly those are point-and-click adventure games).

The improvement from the original to this was oustanding.. I didn't get to play this as much as I wanted back then. And likely never will

As kids, my peers and I always loaded up on bullets. We played this game at my house during our 10 yr HS reunion. We still loaded up on damn bullets.

Sadly my memories of this game include blowing all my money on poker which ironically was a reflection on my adult life.

The hunts make no sense. First hunt you shot 3 deer and it gave you 100 pounds of food. Next hunt you got 5 buffalo and a deer or two and got 200 pounds lol.
And 4 people ate damn near 100 pounds of food in 5 days!

I'm playing Oregon Trail 1.2 on Windows 11 but i cannot get sound to work, even running in compatibility mode

For some reason, I always remember this game and having the curiosity and desire to play this game again. I haven’t played this since elementary school.
