I LOVE arc. Cannot wait for it to come to windows so I can use it there as well
ОтветитьHey Browser Company, you folks are killing it. I'm a software engineer and saw one of my coworkers using Arc not too long ago, and I think my reaction was basically "what the fuck is that?" And spotted the Arc icon in his Dock, and the name in the menu bar, and made a mental note. I wasn't so sure, so I sort of sat on it for a couple months, but recently I saw him using some features that seemed really interesting, so I finally asked him about it, and got ahold of it for my personal Mac.
Spent the evening setting it up / using it / digging into the features, and the next day I installed it on my development laptop. Holy cow, it's insane how much faster my workflow has become already, just being able to actually keep track of things, keep all my stuff organized and separated with different profiles, bust out a note pad on the side if I need one...
I use Obsidian for most of my note taking, and would love to see some kind of integration with that, but since the Arc Notes use Markdown, it's already super easy for me to write out my notes on the browser, then just copy and organize them more permanently in my Obsidian Vault.
I'm on board. Been sharing with a couple folks I know who have been using Brave - though I know it fills a bit of a different target audience, none of the Brave users I know are actually using Brave to its fullest capacity for the things it specializes in, they just like the built in ad / tracker blocking.
I love arc and have been using it on my
Mac for like a year, but my main computer is windows at home and at work. Need a windows version asap :(
What do you have against Android?
ОтветитьIs there a launch date for windows?
ОтветитьSadly they won't ever do a Linux build :(
ОтветитьHeaded over to your website but saw it is a Chromium based browser 😮💨
ОтветитьOnce this hits android, Windows, AND Linux (which I'm guessing will be far in the future) then I would absolutely consider using it. But my browser is most important for my coding work flow which happens on Linux so unless the macos version is actually a Unix version, I can't switch to it
ОтветитьHow is this going to be better than Vivaldi?
ОтветитьIm on linux/windows/android, maybe in 5-8 years ill try it i guess
Ответитьcoming across this browser for the first time. going to give it a shot! I use Opera as my alternative and Chrome as my go-to rn.
ОтветитьAndroid and Windows > Apple
ОтветитьThis browser rn is my secondary for certain things. If it was on windows and android I’d switch completely to it.
ОтветитьThe zoom in when Marques mentioned other browsers stealing features was perfect lol, going to give this browser a try when I can get it on Windows, not a Mac user.
Ответитьi actually xathced this on the arc browser (: and its great
ОтветитьThis review is the reason I switched over to Arc. Made me more productive as a creative. Thank you!
ОтветитьMy 3 favorite features of Arc:
1. Pinned tabs have their own home/anchor URL that you can easily hop back to
2. PiP that automatically opens can you navigate away from a playing video
3. Walled-garden style profiles that you can isolate in separate spaces. There is already so much power in organization with the spaces concept, and having separate profiles increases that by an order of magnitude.
I tried Arc. I just felt overwhelmed, like information overload attempting to use it. Yes, I'll most likely try it again soon; perhaps I wasn't patient enough to get started in my previous attempt.
ОтветитьI am not able to switch to Arc permanently because of password sync isn't available. Also being Android user, I need all my saved password on phone too. In this case Chrome works well. So hopefully waiting for Arc Android app.
Ответитьi think for a browser covering as MANY platforms as possible is incredibly important so the fact there aren't plans to come to android is an automatic no-go for me. good luck
ОтветитьArc is awesome. Period
ОтветитьGuess I'll try this when it comes to Linux. Interesting looking.
ОтветитьAndroid support!
ОтветитьSpeaking of android 😬😬😬😬
Ответить"hope he doesn't use an android phone"??? LOL? ok u just losing on SO MANY USERS... by wut reason really? that comment alone gave me no hope for your product.
-for that reason, i'm out
This video really makes me want to try arc, I wonder if it is easy to switch over from chrome like how safari has the option of importing all bookmarks and passwords from chrome
Ответитьplease make an android version, dont leave us android people in the dust lol android is the dominant platform that majority of people use. it would be criminal to ignore android.
ОтветитьDid they pick the Arc browser logo from some clipart library?
ОтветитьI am so passionate about ARC that I want to work on it as a software developer, I am checking your career page 😅
ОтветитьYour engineer is super hot... ok, ok I'll cut it.
ОтветитьWhen is the mobile version coming? Currently, the mobile version is really bad (I'm sorry 😅).
ОтветитьThis video was 5 months ago and still no Windows Version? The most used desktop Operating System... Nor Android. Not even a beta?
ОтветитьI am happy that you. did not name it Matte. Arc just sounds more encompassing.
Ответитьdownloaded Arc, installed and launched it. Deleted it 30S later for two reasons:
1. At launch it took over my screen to play music and show a useless animation. It's WEB BROWSER. It felt like I'd been hacked and my computer was taken over
2. After I understood this was advertising the browser to me, I was prompted to either sign in or create a user account. IT's a WEB BROWSER why the hell do I need an account?!?!
So this thing is garbage created by people who don't know how to use the web for people who don't know how to use the web, but I seriously do not understand why people insist on keeping dozens of tabs open instead of using bookmarks. We live in an age of high-speed, unlimited internet. Tabs were invented for low-bandwidth, data capped internet connections. A bookmark really only takes an extra second to load vs a tab and unless you're actively working on two web pages at once tabs are just a waste of resources. And if you're really that active on the web you'd be better off with multiple windows.
Arc missed the mark by a wide margin.
when windows??
ОтветитьMake a linux version pls!!!
ОтветитьThe CEO is Andy Bernard O_O
Ответитьhow does Arc make money?
ОтветитьWhy would you launch mac version first when 90% of users are windows?
ОтветитьThat's great that you have moved all of your tabs, spaces and folders over to the left-hand side in a vertical list, but why does that list need to be sitting there ALL the time like that? The ONLY time I care about that list (or what's in it) is when I'm LOOKING over there to use it. That's maybe 5% of the time that I'm in my browser at best. Look at all the wasted space that list of tabs and folders takes up on the screen while it is just sitting there not being used. There's no reason to be continuously wasting that much screen real estate like that on that frame. Is there a way to make that tab/folder frame a fly-out instead? That way it's only popped out and taking up space on the screen when I NEED it to be. Can't that be set up with a variable/timed, adjustable auto-hide/mouse-over fly-out instead? If you are going to make better use of your screen real estate, then virtualize as much of it as you possibly can with collapsible, user-controlled, customizable, mouse-over fly-outs that will auto-hide off to the side of the screen (only showing a very small arrow bar to remind you it's still there) after a certain number of un-moused-over seconds (that is specified by the user). Seriously though, why even bother changing the layout of the screen at all if all you are going to do is turn right back around and waste a huge chunk of space on something that only needs to be there a VERY small percentage of the time that I'm using the browser? Please fix that as soon as possible. And not to sound needlessly harsh here at all, but if you are going to build a new browser that is more accommodative to how people actually work then focus less on trying to be the "cool" kid (the exact same mistake that Apple has made countless times on SO many of their products over the years) and pay much closer attention to how people actually work - and what matters most to THEM as they are working. Don't fall into the same trap that Apple has. Focus on the actual functionality and how it fits the real-world use-case...and don't worry at all about what seems "cool".
ОтветитьHow many more Chromium based browsers does the world need?
ОтветитьDid I hear “I hope he doesn’t use an Android phone”? 😏
ОтветитьWish Mac's weren't that useless...
ОтветитьAt some point they'll get to developing CSS with Mozilla and Chrome and fix scroll snap...
ОтветитьFor android and windows please ~
ОтветитьI really hope you guys make an android version next to the ios, because only supporting ios is a bit of a bummer. Loving what this browser can do so far!
ОтветитьI’m loving it. It is the only browser I use now. Took a bit getting used to, but now it’s second nature. It just make sense.
Ответитьso android version???
ОтветитьIs this coming to Android, and why?
Ответитьsips coffee
