ОтветитьMy father is diagnosed with sinusitis (probably chronic), and I think I have had it too since I was a kid. There's no week where I don't get a cold. My nose gets so clogged I can't breathe through my nose. When I have a cold but not fully clogged, I still try to breathe to my nose even though it is a little bit uncomfortable.

ОтветитьI had the exact same symptoms mentioned in the video - v-shaped arch and anterior open bite due to tongue thrust. It was until I had a septoplasty at 19 that I could finally begin to breathe through my nose regularly and stop mouth breathing. I'm currently doing invisalign to fix my upper arch and training myself to stop mouth breathing. If only all this info on tongue thrust and mouth breathing was available to me 20 years ago and my parents knew about this - luckily my case isn't severe enough that I need jaw surgery.

...disconnection which leads to dysregulation and then to disorder and then to disease. Breathing is not just a binary action: continue breathing = live OR discontinue breathing = die. HOW we breathe is also of vital importance to our health and not just for oxygen 'uptake' and 'delivery' but for so many other reasons, as well. Three great books: Breath by James Nestor, Oxygen Advantage and The Breathing Cure both by Patrick McKeown.
ОтветитьI recently became a certified Buteyko instructor so I can help others to be well, too. Changing one's breathing patterns from being dysfunctional to being functional really can heal or greatly improve so, so many chronic illnesses. Our respiratory system is our 'apex' system which literally feeds our nervous system, our cardiovascular system and all the rest of our systems, organs, tissues, etc. on down the line all the way down to the mitochondria in our cells for their 'cellular respiration' to produce energy or ATP. If the food (oxygen) delivery is being compromised by dysfunctional breathing, especially over the long term, then the ability for homeostasis for everything 'on down the line' in our body will be compromised which leads to ...
