Ok, imagine this, an new Devilman series where Akira and Amon work together.
Amon would often try to talk Akira into comitting crimes and other terrible acts, but Akira is strong and he wouldn't be brainwashed into the side of evil, and would continue to use Amon's power to morph into Devilman and protect people.
However, as time goes on, Amon starts to become more human, personality wise, and starts caring about other people too, such as Miki, whom he previously despised.
Akira let's Amon take over when it comes the time to fight Satan. Amon wins, but is forced to go back to hell and leave Akira. The human thanks Amon for all the help, and promises to never forget about him. Amon feels the same, and promises he won't let demons come to earth ever again, as to protect Akira and the other humans.
The final shot of the show is Amon standing in front of the gate that connects the human and demon worlds, ready to face off against any demon who tries to cross it.

Was this part of the original series what season I really wanna watch.

Damn a classic anime that makes me wanna check the series out. Haven't been like this since DBZ.

2022 and still holds up beautifully, the best part about the devilman anime is when the fighting starts, the characters go straight for the kill, no using certain percentages of power or hidden techniques, just utter violence

Akio Otsuka has always been amazing at voice acting as strong big menacing characters such as Amon, Yujiro Hanma and many more.
