The Throttle Body was a huge flaw. Its a failure point that kills a lot of hemis, because the owners just junk them.
ОтветитьGot a 05 rumble bee and been dead reliable with 190k also have 06 Daytona with 120k had a hemi tick but went away still running but only use that for weekends now.
ОтветитьMDS was available on the early LX (pre-2006) cars - my '05 300C (June 2004 build date) has it - never had an issue with that system, but disabled it electronically for aftermarket tuning and better long term longevity (the 5.7 is still running perfect today).
ОтветитьGreat info 👍 Thank you very much 🙏😌
ОтветитьFalse the mds system came out in 2005 Magnum RT
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьWAY TOO FUCKING FAST TALKING Dude!!!! Holy SHIT, slow it the fuck down
Ответить2009+ has more power
ОтветитьIm a mopar person, but i got to admit, there's nothing like a v8 chevy engine
ОтветитьHey Marsspeed🙋🏽. Quick question.. Can I put an 05 dodge ram 1500 engine in my 06 dodge charger r/t? I'm trying to see If their interchangeable
ОтветитьYou got your MDS data wrong, I have it on the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Unlimited.
ОтветитьSo if I'm understanding this correctly my 1998 ram1500 & 2007 ram2500 have the same bell housing bolt patterns? I can dismount my 5speed(manual) from the 318 magnum & directly bolt it to my (gen3)5.7 hemi?
ОтветитьMy 2005 Magnum 5.7 is stock and original running gear. It is equipped with MDS.
Ответитьgot a 2010 hemi police charger wondering if it this is a good motor and if it has cylinder deactivation
ОтветитьThank you for the excellent video and valuable information. I put pre-eagle engine into a 2009 Cherokee before I knew about the crank sensor changes from 32 to 58 teeth. The engine starts but stays in limp mode. Anything I can do besides tearing the engine apart to swap in the correct ring?
ОтветитьWell some how I'm confused. my 2005 Chrysler looks like it has the eagle not the pre-eagle but I must be looking at it wrong. got like 230,000km on it an it sounds brand new still.

ОтветитьGreat video. Wish we had more stats on the lifter/cam issue.
ОтветитьWas it ever released as to why the car versions of the Eagle have a passive intake manifold versus truck version? The 6.4 has an active IM from the factory.
ОтветитьIs the 2008 and the 2009 5.7 have the same connecting rods and crank shaft
ОтветитьGood job👍
ОтветитьJust re-visited this vid. This info is So Relevant. Good job bro. For the 2nd time!
ОтветитьHi you mopars I from Saudi Arabia l have charger rt. 06 it’s my son run only 90,000m it’s cute alhamd llah
And thanks for information
is there a difference between truck vs lx style engines? other than the throttle & throttle body ?
ОтветитьSo can i Put crankshaft from eagle to pre-eagle?
ОтветитьV8
ОтветитьI have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 5.7 Hemi.
I love it! My daily, or least it was until recently. I let my wife take it to work and take her Jeep, a 2015 Jeep Patriot. Good car but no balls with the 4 cylinder
Good work
ОтветитьI liked this comparison between the two engines, I have seen the flaws in both. Sooo the question
is can you mount the Eagle heads on top off the Pre Eagle engine and have the best of both worlds.
The MDS is a failure waiting to happen, so it will not be used. What do you think.
Will it work, and what other parts would have to be changed??
I got a couple questions for the Chrysler 300c because I have one my self it’s a 2005 and I got a lot of issues with it
ОтветитьOn another video they claim the MDS actually helps prevent lifter wear, due to the extra oil galley that activates the MDS is under higher pressure to activate the system ... the leftover extra higher volume oil get distributed to the rest of the lifters... but who knows?
ОтветитьMDS did not debut in 2006. My car is a 2005 and definitely has it.
ОтветитьMy 06 5.7 ran great to just under 200K miles, then some guy rear ended me and it was totalled. It was actually quite reliable. I believe it’s because I switched to full synthetic oil early on, never missed an oil change, made sure sparkplugs were always good, and installed the SRT radiator. Never overheated.
ОтветитьThe exhaust manifold bolts break usually near the rear of the manifold because of the design of the manifold. All the cylinders exhaust collects to the rear exit chamber causing that portion of the manifold to expand much more than the the front cylinders. The needle bearings in the lifters fail because of low oil volume being produced at idle . The best solution for that problem is a high volume oil pump in the pre eagle engines. However in the later model VVT engines because of the lengthened crank snout those oil pumps will not fit . There is currently no manufacturer making high volume oil pumps for those engines. Although a K&N high volume oil filter is available bringing a higher volume of oil to the lifters at idle. Switching the exhaust manifolds to a header and increasing the oil flow makes these engines much more reliable engine.
ОтветитьHas anyone tried Ceratec in a R/T?
ОтветитьSome or your information is not accurate. For instance; the first gen 3 Hemis were offered in 2002 - 2500 and 3500 trucks only. In my professional opinion, the quench areas in the heads do NOT negate the basic Hemispherical design.
Ответитьare u sure about the mds?? i have a 05 300c & it had mds. i got rid of it when i upgraded the cam
ОтветитьMarspeed you should do a video on the 6.1 hemi vs 6.4 I'm curious could I run 6.4 heads on a 6.1 block and stroke it
ОтветитьI have a chrysler 300c 05 with the first gen Hemi. It still runs smooth at 140k miles. I did recently replace intake manifold gasket, valve head gaskets and the throttle gasket. I also always made sure I ran mid to high octane gas. Runs like brand new now.
ОтветитьProbably my favorite motor to hit the market, just the sounds and performance it puts out is perfect and it is capable of making more power although u won’t see it making 2000hp you don’t need that this motor is meant for a car you drive around the block and have fun with
ОтветитьHi I have a 2010 chalanger 5.7 rt manual transmission w/blown motor but I have a 2005 magnum hemi 5.7 out of a dodge ram no mds can I use the top end of the 2010 5.7 RT and put that on the 2005 magnum 5.7 hemi and drop it in the 2010 rt chalanger
ОтветитьIdk why but i thought the Chrysler 300c's were diesel, im in Australia so i have zero experience essentially with Chrysler
ОтветитьIve heard for since ~2018 that Chrysler has had to stop making the 5.7 cause emissions were so bad, guess theyre pretty slick and made it work
ОтветитьI had the lifter issue but mine hit right around 65k to 70k miles thankfully I caught it super early apparently so no damage to the cam just a teardown and replace the bad one.
ОтветитьIf im not mistaken Wasnt the Hemi also replaceing the Magnum 8.0l V10 For the 2003 Model Year as well? Or was it the common rail That did Lol
ОтветитьDo the 3rd gen hemi vs the new 392 hemi
ОтветитьDidn't you already make this video before ? Or am I thinking of a different video but similar swear seen a video by you b4 comparing the 2.
ОтветитьFinnaly a pre eagle vs eagle hemi vid
