KOPYKATS episode with guest Raymond Burr (1972) starring Rich Little, Frank Gorshin, etc.

What a great show. I don't ever remember seeing this when I was a kid but man does it take me back to my childhood. This is the way TV was when I was a kid. It had a certain feel to it. It's like watching the Dean Martin celebrity roasts. I identified with the humor and the jokes but my kids just didn't enjoy it or even get it . I guess the days of variety shows and specials like KopyKats or Dean Martin hour or Texaco's Bob Hope show or Jack Benny shows are just another page in the history books. How I miss that part of my life.

Man oh man, when I was kid I never missed this. My Dad, God rest his soul, took me for my birthday to see Rich Little in a small club in St. Louis, The Cheshire Inn, we were so close to the stage you could reach out and touch the man. I was knocked out.

Oh my gosh that was wonderful! Love love love Raymond Burr. Plus the whole show was great. And you know what it made me think of all the great actors that used to be able to be impersonated. Now everybody's so darn bland who would impersonate anyone? I miss the good old days

This is awesome talent, back than, we need more of this today.

They should've done it in Hollywood with two other pros: Daws Butler and Mel Blanc.

Fred Travelena and Marilyn Michaels were not only great impressionists but superb singers as well. They don’t get nearly enough credit among the best variety performers that were out there. Excellent video.

This was my favorite TV show when I was a kid..well this one with THE ODD COUPLE, and THIS WEEK IN PRO FOOTBALL.

I love all of this. Rich Little did a great Paul Drake (William Hopper) in the skit with Burr. Hopper had already been dead two years when this first aired. Is Rich Little the only one in this episode still with us?

I have never seen anybody do an impression of Lee Marvin before and Frank Gorshin did it perfectly! He was on par with Rich Little in my opinion!

Poor George Harrison didn't even get credit for "Something" in the Beatles medley. Guess time proved his talents though. Maybe Fred Travelina couldn't do a Harrison impression, only John and Paul.

Safe to say this show was a pre-cursor to Saturday Night Live. Even it not,it might as well have been for all intents and purposes.

Many thanks, Fred, for uploading this long forgotten 'gem' from our past. Frank Gorshin was a favorite of both of my parents, so-much-so, that the only time they ever joined me to view "Batman" during its first run, was when Gorshin appeared as "the Riddler". I should have known about this show, if for only that reason... I wonder how my parents missed viewing this show?

Fabulous! Great to see all these great impersonators together. I worked with Fred Travelena a little over 20 years ago on a World Cruise - what a talent!
