What's the bell thing about??

My ceiling is 8’. My dining table is 52” in diameter. My dinning room is 13’ x 12’ and right next to it is the living room which is 11’ x15’. Should I just take your advise to order a flush mount chandelier from 18” to 20” or follow the rule I saw online, do translation of feet into inches, and order a chandelier 25 inches in diameter? Thank YOU Julie for teaching us combining Feng Shui in this modern era. It's time to replace the dining room wall canvas picture, this wall is also facing the window across living room. I've learned from your other episodes that it's a great idea to place a mirror on this wall that attract the natural scenery from that window. But I wonder can I put a crystal chandelier with gold trim that may reflect from the mirror? I'm supposed to use the mirror to absorb the best scenery from that window, but having a crystal chandelier above dining table, would it reflect away what I intended to absorb?

Hi Julie. Great video :-) I have a (vague) question. If the height of a room is 8 feet, and if you want to create a space around a coffee table or a dining table with a pendant light, how far above the table/below the ceiling should the pendant be? I guess it depends on the size of the table and on how much the light is focused by the pendant.

I have an open floorplan. My front entry and family room are next to each other, but I'd like to make my family room a modern style with a hint of elegance. I plan to replace the light fixtures for my family room and entryway. The ceiling light fixture is an elegant piece for my family room, but i don't want an extremely elegant light fixture for my entryway. How would I transition the light fixture between these two rooms? Should I consider the style, finishes, and size?

Hi Julie, when you have a wall sconce very close to a hallway light, is it best to keep in the same light fixture collection or as long as it maintains the same style (same finish, shape, crystal) it's best to mix and match collection to keep things interesting? Thanks for the feedback

Julie, I need a light fixture that will go over my kitchen table. I currently have an outdated light fixture that doesn't match my updated granite countertops and hardwood floors. I have African Rainbow granite tops and think I may need something to blend with this maybe silver. The ceiling is not very high so don't need a pendant drop light fixture. But can you change styles in different rooms? I can't decide on one style. What I like for the hallway I don't like for the living room, but then what I like are generally different style fixtures.

Pendant light or flush/semi mount over 32” sink, in front of 58”w window? No island nor penninsula counter in kitchen. And what width size shall I consider for the pendant or flush/semi mount? Yes, we prefer an unobstructive view through window, yet the pendant rod will be in line with the window’s vertical center bar of the frame. Thank you, Julie!

Hi Julie! I’ve been watching a lot of tour videos lately and I want to thank you for giving us so many great tips. I just have a question on the dining light above the dining table. I think I watched another video of yours that said that the light should fill up the area above your dining table. So if we had a long rectangular table, I believe you had mentioned we can use 2 - 3 pendant lights above it. In this video, you only mention to use the 2 - 3 pendant lights above a kitchen island. Can you please help to clarify whether we should have two or three lights above a long dining table as well?
