I was diagnosed last November, 2023. I am 70 years old and have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks all my life. I take meds for that. I am generally a fun happy person but lately I seem to be depressed terribly and I exercise every day, play ping pong, pool, foosball, take a rock steady boxing class twice a week. But my anxiety has really interfered with my daily functions, that scared feeling. I am going to seek help tomorrow to see a psychologist to get help for that. I love your book. It has helped me a lot. I have a sign on my bathroom wall that says rising helix because that is what I want to be for others! God bless you!
ОтветитьThis is eye opening. I’m having the symptoms that you’ve described and I don’t know where to turn. Help
ОтветитьYou described what happened to Mitch McConnell
ОтветитьGreat 🎉presentation 👏 👍.
Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for the informati have parkinson's And it's hard more days than others , I have no family, no support. Could you please send me some literature that would help me...? Sometimes I feel so alone with this disease and I would love to find out if there's any support groups to attend, thank you once again.
Ответить3rd I hi😊bg😂o
Ответитьher snapping of fingers is not a sign of parkinsons? is that a signal to change the slide that we can't see?
ОтветитьI was diagnosed with PD just over 5 years ago and this video explains most of what I personally have gone through. I shared it with my friends and family hopefully they get it and understand it a bit more . All you Parkies out there remember to take ur meds in time and get your buts out of bed stretch, move your muscles , get some sun on your face , drink lots of water and smile cause your not gonna let this PD own you !!!! Ok nap time 😊
ОтветитьHave had symptoms for years, and I'm only 60. Started with a tapping rt foot, then the right hand tremor. Then the left side. I'm bedbound because of a bad back which just adds more problems. My wife is my caregiver and she was sent by heaven.
ОтветитьThank you for this video, it explains a lot for me. I have told my Dr that I am having tremors that no one sees but me, sleep patterns off, and most bodily functions are off too. Dang I forget what I was going to say, there was one part where you said something like speak up, but when you do your Dr will not listen. I am a migraine sufferer and have been for over 60 years, but now they are daily and quite debilitating, also I am a crafter and find that following a pattern is really hard, yet sometimes I have got it only to get part way through and totally forget what to do next or get lost to where I am. Balance is an issue too, like almost falling over. For a long time I have walked around in the dark, but now I find that if I turn around I get lost and bang into a doorjamb OUCH!!! I think I will try again to get through to my Dr that this is actually happening and see how I go, will need a lot of luck that is for sure.
ОтветитьThis is about pain.
ОтветитьMost helpful explanation of PD I’ve had since being diagnosed. Thank you.
Ответитьthank you,
helping my friend, better . . . !j
commitment. . . !
The worst part of my sister's Parkinson's has been the dementia that has come in the latter part of this, she has had Parkinson's for 5 to 6 years but has had dementia for about 3 of those years. She is very depressed too, but then she is now in a Care Home now for a couple of months and misses her home dreadfully so has every right to be. She has become doubly incontinent on occasions, yesterday on one afternoon hour visit I had to change her twice because she has no control over her bowels at time. It's something like dealing with a toddler who poops and you won't know until you smell it. Other times she will tell you she needs to go to the toilet and walk unaided to her rest room in her room and manage fine so it's changeable. She can walk up the corridor in the Care Home quite well and if she is interested in a noise that is going on amongst other residents she is literally up off her bed or chair and going to see what is going on. Yet other times she can barely move and even trying to put a shoe on her is problematic, so you basically don't know what you are going to get each day. With her actual Parkinson's she had the hand tremor and then started with a head and neck tremor and would pull her mouth in such a way showing all her teeth in a bizarre manner, although the Parkinson's meds have helped with those Parkinson's symptoms as such. My maternal Grandmother had the same, Parkinson's/dementia, but yet she did not have the head and shoulder and mouth jerks, and some of the other symptoms, so everyone seems to be different.
ОтветитьBrilliant assessment. Lots of crossover with ADHD. I wish she would quit flicking the air. We can't see the slides.
Ответитьyou are describing me, damn it.
ОтветитьThis is sue my husband has Parkinson’s for 18 years and dementia for almost 4 years although very difficult to cope with he’s the love of my life and we still have a laugh and a cry also hugs and kisses a cure should have been found by now😢😢😢
ОтветитьThank you for that! I’m 38 and I have been told that it’s probably Parkinson’s! Some of the things that you’ve mentioned resonates for well. I’ve always been very healthy, and always been strong guy. Many of the points that you have pointed out have not been addressed with my movement specialist, especially the pain in different parts of my body that have been undiagnosed. No doubt you have truly taken time to think about and analyze this disease. I’m the baby of a eight children and no one else has this disease but me. I appreciate that you truly are trying to understand and sympathize with peoples feelings. Even though it doesn’t seem that you are coping with this disease it’s nice when someone tries to empathize with you. Thank you again,
ОтветитьExcellent !
ОтветитьDoes she have tics or some abnormal movt disorder
No doubt she’s extremely brilliant at the subj
I have Parkinson's and have a problem with recall.
ОтветитьIf you want more cognitive clarity, get OFF of that statin! The minute you stop, your memory will improve. Don't believe me? Read the studies. She doesn't even mention diet! lol Cut your carbs. You'll notice a difference. And listen to a lot of music (the rhythm helps the brain). Fasting is a biggie, as well. There are many things you can do to alleviate or get rid of a lot of the symptoms of PD. Also, make sure it's not Lyme disease.
ОтветитьIt’s Impossible to remember what you forgot!!
ОтветитьI was just diagnosed at age 69. Honesty I am scared. I have to say this speaker has done a beautiful job, making an advanced topic be comprehensive. Simply brilliant.
ОтветитьI challenge.

ОтветитьWhat a tremendous video. Brother disgnosed with PD & having rough time
ОтветитьExcellent presentation. I would welcome corresponding with you, Dr. Hamilton. My first indication of PD was "loss of smell."
ОтветитьDoes Adderall help or hurt Parkinson?
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful
And extremely helpful video. I have gained a lot. My name is Zubeida Desai and I am a South African woman living in Cape Town. What do I have to do to be on your mailing list? I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in December 2016 at the age of 62 whilst I was the Dean of Education at the University of the Western Cape. I continued as Dean till I formally retired in December 2016. I am still connected to the UWC by supervising PHDs and mentoring junior academics. This is what kept me sane during Cov😅d
This is 100% on point she nails it. I have pd every moment is a new experience
ОтветитьHow do we know you are telling us the truth?
ОтветитьMy husband was just recently diagnosed & this video explained it all… I had SO many questions! Thanks much… valuable info!
ОтветитьWell, now I know... no longer in denial 🙌 😌 thank you for explaining everything we are experiencing because of Parkinsons... wow, jaw drop, sigh.
ОтветитьHelpful. Thank you.
ОтветитьI was diagnosed about a year ago and have to say thank you for addressing these issues. Mostly people look for visible signs and the only ones I had were falling for no reason. You addressed nearly every symptom I experience.
ОтветитьHow is this different than adhd?
ОтветитьThank you. Makes so many moments clear for me.
ОтветитьPacked with information and so very helpful.
ОтветитьNeed help for my wife🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьThank you 🙏❤️🎶
Ответитьi like what she is saying but cant deal with the finger flicking. ADHD?
ОтветитьNuplazid worked well for my friend ….. he had paranoia and hallucinations
ОтветитьSome can't handle the struggles I am experiencing, I'll die alone.
ОтветитьDBS? Was that explained and I just missed it?
ОтветитьMy husband has changed so much . A totally different person. It is scary sorry. He mistreats me and says very mean things.
