I've just joined the creator fund as I've just passed 10k followers and I also have issues. I'm not expecting great income at my account size, but there's no consistency to my income and my views have dropped. I'm staying in it for now, but it seems like Tiktok needs some changes made to the fund.

This makes sense as a sentiment if you are trying to enforce the guidelines fairly. I am someone who has a career in big data, and I don't think I can explain this well, but most companies don't have this as the primary aim. When it comes to moderation practices, they are making a calculation that balances cost of implementation vs business risks (creators leaving the platform, advertiser dissatisfaction, legal obligations, etc.) and unfortunately human labour is HELLA expensive. I see this take on content moderation a lot because of course our internal sense of justice says the right this is for the system to be fair. But businesses just aren't like that. The way we can influence this is by tilting the calculation - increasing the business risk so that pouring more money into the moderation program makes sense. "It makes the content worse" just isn't a compelling argument. They don't measure that.

I made one tik tok and it was banned for community guidelines. It was bts and technical info at a photo shoot with a model. She was fully clothed but laying on a bed and it was removed in less than 20 minutes. First and last video I ever made. 👎🏼

it's so funny bc i don't even want to make money off tiktok - I just want to be able to share my fun little nerd cosplay videos. But the way they sometimes show your videos to your followers and sometimes not?? the way there's no transparency in why they decide to silently keep your content under review for hours for no reason and then release it to be seen by three people and no more???? it's so tiring. I don't even want to be viral, I just want some kind of steadiness from the app. I want fun stuff I spent all day and night filming to get to my friends that I made it for.
I can't imagine if I was actually even slightly relying on money from the app, their inconsistency and unreliability are infuriating.
