Abstract: Neuromyths are commonly held misconceptions about the brain believed by both the general public and educators. Less attention has been devoted to educational neuroscience and developmental disorders in general or the prevalence of neuromyths about neurodevelopmental disorders. In this talk, we will discuss the relevance of educational neuroscience for special educational needs (SEN) and present findings from our latest study on myths about neurodevelopmental disorders endorsed by educators and the general public. We will then address how this situation may be improved via provision of neuroeducational resources.
