He really was a bigger, slower Floyd. I don't mean that in a negative way. Being bigger, he is ok to be slower than Floyd. His defense and movement was likely second only to Mayweather. Incredibly impressive.

Dimitri Pirog was a very special boxer. He could read the movements of opponents like only Pernell Whittaker, James Toney and Floyd could. Perhaps he was even more efficient. All this with the most minimal movements and great inner peace. The fact that he shone undefeated in "only" 20 fights is neither sad nor to put into perspective when you see how careers, like those of Roy Jones and Tyson went downhill because they did not make the jump. Better 20 fights at Himalayan level than 30 and then 10 on a downhill slide into embarrassment.
Pirog is one of the best 20-30 boxers in history. A stylist who crowned boxing with aesthetics, efficiency and tremendous ring IQ. He will live forever in the hearts of connoisseurs of boxing.
