This video came in handy today. I’ve had the new camera for a while but the engine blew and we had to wait to get that fixed. If you have a Hyundai and the engine blows, take it to a dealer so they can see if it’s part of the class action lawsuit. We got a new engine for $0, it just took a little over a month.

pssst, don't worry about the grey clips. They are temporary for assembly only. The bolts/screws are what hold the panel in place.

Hi. I bought from ebay an OEM Mobis camera , but after installation it doubles the warning notification to another language and also doubles the lines. I tend to belive this is not Mobis original. Did you guys buying from ebay experienced same ? Are there any settings for reverse camera where warning notification can be removed?

This is not as easy as it looks. Get yourself a look pair of needle nose pliers that are curved at the end to squeeze the gray clips.

The original camera had a part metal case that let in water when the metal corroded, replacements from eBay seem to have an all-plastic case which solves the issue. Recently replaced mine but opened it up and added acrylic coating to the circuit boards for extra protection. Use a 9mm ring spanner over the grey plastic clips to release them. Really important - protect the bodywork from the bolts on the end of the panel as they WILL scratch the paint whilst taking off the panel.

For the grey clips, I found that if you can put a bit of tension on the cover by lifting it, and the pinch (with a plier) or push (with a flathead) the two grey tabs in, they pop out.

Just completed it. Definitely break off the clips and replace instead of trying to force the cover off. Otherwise you risk damaging the cover.

Another big help for me is putting the ratchet on my drill driver. I have had a simple adaptor that fits ratchet on one end where the other end fits in the drill. This speeds up removing and installing all those 10mm nuts, some at bad angles for my back

I just opened up this rear panel, and didn’t break anything. For the gray clips, I just compressed them individually while my friend put some light upward pressure on the cover. I just worked each one at a time and it came off with no problem and no broken clips. It’s all about taking your time.
I have no idea whatsoever why the camera just fails. Like he shows in the video, that whole area under the cover is subject to rain and salt water and dirt. The camera body did indeed have some light corrosion on the outside of it, but the connector was perfectly clean. I’ve ordered another camera, we’ll see if a replacement fixes the issue.
Does anyone know the difference between the reverse cameras for navigation vs non-navigation? Besides the $200 price difference? I believe I ordered a camera for a Santa Fe with navigation, but my Santa Fe doesn’t have nav. The clips are the same though.

Good video with the exception of getting the clips off. My suggestion is to not even try. Buy new clips on Ebay. You can get a package of 25 of them for under $9 Just shear the back off with a chisel or screw driver. Make sure you have them before you start the job.Below is the discription on Ebay. You can also buy the camera as well much cheaper.

I've had the same failure in my 2013 SF. This looks too complicated for me to take on myself. Hyundai made it way too difficult to service the camera. And way too expensive to replace. So, I'll probably have to go without or get a clamp on. Frustrating that it's probably a design flaw. Shame on you Hyundai.

2013 Santa Fe Sport without navigation.
thank you so much for this video. My dealer quote to replace this was $738.00. My husband and I did this replace today (8/17/19). It took about 1hour and was quire easy. As indicated by many, this gray clips is the worse part. The issue is that you cannot really see the clips so it is hard to avoid breaking them. There were 10 clips. We broke 4 of them. Just take your time when you are pulling off the cover to get to the camera. However, i don't think you can complete the job without breaking a couple. Don't worry too much, because there are screwes that hold the cover in place on the outer side. I purchased my camera on ebay ($135). The manufacturer is Dorman and the part number is 590-077 (remember is for a 2013 Santa Fe sport without navigation. Everything works well. I dont see any funny Chinese writing in the back up view or anything like that. Thanks again for thr video.

I had to replace mine as well and I ordered the same model number camera: 95760-2W000
But the camera I received puts an extra guideline and warning message (korean) on the screen what is quite ugly. Do you know what should I check to be sure that I order the exact camera what I need?

I had a black screen. Replacing the camera worked for me. Pick one up from ebay $60. Like every comment here, it’s almost impossible removing the metal cover without breaking one or two of the clips. I tried, pushing then from the bottom, and took my time, but still broke a few. Lucky it still held in place once i button it back up. I don’t recommend the silicone, due to it will trap water and debris behind the cover and cause corrosion. Water is meant to pass thru the cover and out. You may still want to cover the back of the camera with silicone, this will protect, the camera from water and corrosion. Thank you for this Great video, it help me wiz thru the process. 👍

So finally, after 6 months I replace my camera. I was able to get one new off eBay, OEM, for $70. The whole repair took me about 1 hour, and no doubt the clips were the most challenging part. I was able to get the trip off with only breaking 1 clip. I used a very long screwdriver to press the sides of the clips and get them to pop through one at a time. Thanks for this video. It gave me the confidence to attach this project myself. The dealership quoted me $180 for the labor and $280 for the camera.
