Welcome to the Resident Cosmetic Clinic! This is a resident-run clinic on Thursday afternoons at the main KU Hospital Sutherland Institute. The Resident Cosmetic Clinic is run by the Chief Residents in the plastic surgery department. The Cosmetic Clinic is a fun, relaxed atmosphere that serves as a teaching module for trainees in their final year of residency. Each resident is directed by faculty mentors with the objective of adequately preparing our residents to go out into practice. Patients are examined and evaluated by a resident during the initial consultation.

This is an opportunity for patients to discuss their aesthetic concerns and goals. Then surgical options are formulated with a faculty mentor and presented to the patient for further discussion. If a patient elects to proceed with surgery, they will be seen for a second visit prior to their operation to finalize pre-operative planning, as well as subsequent follow up appointments upon the completion of their cosmetic procedure. For all Resident Clinic cases, a discount is applied to the surgeon fee. Please note, this clinic is designed for primary procedures only. Patient who are seeking revisionary surgery or surgery following massive weight loss will need to schedule in the faculty plastic surgery clinics.
