This one is easy for tonex, there is no ooomph ;) but it’s good!
ОтветитьNice - all sound really close, basically no favourites... but I'd go with Amplitube for in the box, as it's far more versatile for tweaking and doesn't take all that effort to get there.
ОтветитьConsidering the training time for Tonex, I'd pick Amplitube here. They're all basically the same, or close enough that EQ could fix any differences. Glad to know IK has a bugfix coming for low end and direct captures.
ОтветитьI actually think that Amplitube sounds closer to the real deal than the capture. Pretty disappointed so far tbh. STL tones really needs to open up ToneHub to user created captures without any extra hardware aside from your interface and a reamp box.
Ответитьto me tonex sound almost indistinguishable from the real amp, but i can clearly hear the difference in amplitube - oompfier, muddier, softer in the attack. the weird thing is so do ik's captures in tonex, with an added "bonus" of harshness and fizziness up top, which initially sounds like an uncanny contradiction.
yours and other captures on the tube show that the technology is viable, though, and good captures can be achieved in tonex, but ik's are lacking something, weirdly enough. it might be in the fact that they possibly have separate amp and cab captures coupled together, that don't react like a fully captured rig, i don't know. i understand their concept, i actually prefer it, cause i want to be able to switch cabs, for different amps, and different mics, etc., but they need to somehow make the combos sound as good as the rigs captured whole.
Those darn computers will never sound like a good old Marshall.
Ответитьonly the real deal sounds right in my opinion. the sims are just castrated closed down mids
ОтветитьPresonus Ampire boys and girls!
ОтветитьThe amplitube one sounds way to digital while the capture kind of get the lifeness of the real... I happen to like it over the real but that’s a matter of taste I would say
ОтветитьI find I end up using real tube amps, solid state amps, and digital modeling all together in my mixes. Laying down tracks in my DAW without committing works best to capture my ideas, then I can re-amp later or track with real amps if I feel like it.
Never dreamed of having my own bedroom studio with basically unlimited options for sounds!
Bottom line...it is all good (great! Actually) just depends on how you use it.
Thanks for the video. For me, Amplitube brings some harshness in the hi range that doesn't exist with the real thing nor toneX. After playing with the free demo, the most convincing parts are the fuzz and overdrive pedals that bring a real organic feeling, and much more musical hi range than modelised stomps. Btw, combining the 2 worlds (Tonex stomp + Amplitube amp or Amplitube stomp + Tonex amp) gave me instant smile and fun.
ОтветитьAny new AB testing coming? :)
ОтветитьSounds great, awesome riffage!
ОтветитьGod man, you are putting in so much time to make these tonex models. You need way more subs. You are one of my favourite channels for amp sims on yt. You compare so great, no talking, the same DIs through each amp, etc... You also do your best to make sure everything is set to be close as can be
Ответитьwhat is tone x is it fully separate from amplitube I haven't been following
ОтветитьBetween the JMP and the Tonex, its super close. The JMP just sounds a little more open and airy than the tonex capture but everything else is spot on.
ОтветитьAwesome video! I noticed the pictures didnt match the track name being solo-ed? Is the track name accurate or the picture? Because I kept favoring evertime the video showed "Amplitube" but noticed when that picture was being displayed, it was the "Tonex" Track being soloed?
ОтветитьRegardless of which is better we have to appreciate just how far we’ve come with sims.
ОтветитьReally close, nice demo
ОтветитьCool but its always when you play throught it your self that it doesnt sound and play like the real thing
ОтветитьYou can share the tonex tone on tonenet?
Ответитьjust asking... with all the good comments here, i havent read one that takes into the simple account, WHAT we are all listening to these WITH or THROUGH, anything for that matter, on the net! That matters I think, in some manner. Nobody's setup & listening METHODS & PREFERENCES are going to be the same as anyone elses..... right? We, on the receiving end of these, all hear it differently in some way; just has to be that way. Again, for the reason i noted. And i say that after looking for info on this stuff and watching the videos trough different setups and guess what? They each sound different. Get my stupid point? And then, there are other factors that can be added but that would just drive me more crazy, but again, stuff matters when trying to decide things such as this, through whatever WE are hearing them through...in actuality, it probably sounds TOTALLY DIFFERENT in whomevers' room / setup its actually happening in.... right? Please no dumb ass lol, remarks. I wasnt being silly, i just realized this while doing it; which now makes deciding simpler.... just get trial versions and try em out! Problem solved lol. Need to hear ME whilst playing through my setups. (takes long breath.)
ОтветитьGod bless you for stopping by with this comment, and may your entire family prosper in every aspect
ОтветитьI'm playing a 1980 jmp 2104 mk2 through a two notes captor 8 with a appropriate 2x12 speaker (Rola G12 65) and compared that sound to Tonex. Amalgam jtm50 Di capture with the same speaker IR. Absolutely no difference but the real deal feels better but it's close. Nice video man.
ОтветитьId go Amplitube. More versatile and you can oversample it and remove aliasing. Which you cannot do with a capture. This makes a MASSIVE difference
Ответитьyou sell this preset pack ?
ОтветитьBoth sound terrible
