My Favorite VS Code Extensions

As of today, here are the extensions that work and the author names:
Material Theme - Esquinusocio
Live Server - ritwickdey (no update in a few years, but still works)
CSS Peek - pranaygp
Color Highlight - naumovs
ES7+ React/Redux/React-Native snippets - dsznajder
Prettier - Code formatter - esbenp

Bracket Pair Colorizer has been made obsolete by the editor now doing this on it's own.
Since Live Server is no longer being worked on, I would keep on eye on 'Live Preview - ms-vscode' as this is still actively receiving commits and has Microsoft themselves behind it.

What theme and extension you use can you please tell me

Dig seeing how others set up their environment. Could we have a 2023/2024 update?

Bracket Pair Colorizer Extension is now deprecated is bow part of VS Code.

Literally just told us to download visual studio, now expects us to know how to create a html file without showing us....

In my case this purple color in text and in the activity bar icon (numbered) doesn't turn to purple, it stand light blue. How to fix that. it happened after 8: 12 min. If someone notice that please reach out to me.

My favorite extension is colorToHsl it converts colornames/hex colors/rgb colors to hsl colors each time you save a css/scss file. My friend made this extension for me and i love it. It is avalible in the marketplace if anyone wants to use it :)

Hey Colt, Love your boot camp. 50% done. But I have a question on the color you have between brackets. It shows red but I can't get that visual effect and I really like it and find it easy to red when it is. What extension is that from?

Bracket Pair Colorizer and Emmet have both been integrated into VS Code. If you open setting and search brackets you can turn on the option to show the guide line.

Just dropping an update here, Emmet has been integrated into VS code so there is no longer a need to install an extension. There are additional extensions now that customize its functionality further though.

Live share. Get and use live share, ESPECIALLY as an educator. It lets you show your file to others in real time, much better than sharing a screen, or using a projector

Not sure what version it was added, but the Bracket Pair Colorizer is now a built in feature of VSCode. You can find it in settings by searching for Brackets.

I just downloaded "Bracket Pair Colorizer 2" and noticed on it's details page it says it "no longer has a purpose for 2022 so development will no longer continue." Hello. I have tried changing the color of my tags to no avail please I would need help with that. When I switched to material theme the color I used was abyss. Both the tags and the information within each tag were the same color so I tried changing it to no avail. Please what do I do

Format.Onsafe wasn't working first. I set Prettier Now as default formatter (instead of "None") in Text Editor Settings and it's solved now.

Hi, in your lesson 26. VSCode Tip: Auto-format you show that you can auto-format CSS on save, but for me, after entering the settings and typing "format", all i see are options for html, and not css. How can i enable such a feature for CSS as well?

I don't think we need Color Highlight anymore as color highlights are already present in VS Code by default
